Default Engagement Ring? (little bit long)

I know that this might not belong in this thread but I am posting it here hoping that soon this will be our wedding month!!

SO Thanksgiving was a busy day for Jake and I. I woke up early and my mom and I baked. I made a raspberry pie, a french silk pie and a pumpkin pie. The desserts were to take to Jake's sister's house. I also made stuffed mushrooms and bought spinach dip with Hawaiian bread to take to my dad's.

Jake came to my mom's early to get me so he could spend some time with our kitty (Artemis lives with me but we joke that he is our son and I told Jake that he wasnt being a very good dad because he hasnt seen his son in a while so he came over early to see Artemis. I brought Artemis home to the subarbs with me because I felt mean leaving him home alone.)

We then went to my dad's house. Jake brought over a $50 bottle of wine for my dad and a cheesecake for the family that he bought and my dad barely even said thanks (a whole nother issue). Then after spend a few hours with my family we left and drove the hour to his sisters.

When we got to his sisters they reheated dinner for us and as we were eating dinner they were all planning on where they were going shopping the next day. Well while we were eating Jake's mom kept handing me jewelery store cataloges and telling me to give them to Jake and she kept pointing out all the engagement rings to Jake. When we first walked in to Jake's Sister's his mom said OOOOOH Leslee bakes? You better scoop her up SOON!

I just thought you would all enjoy that Jake is now getting pressure from hismom and his daughter to give me a ring soon!! I dont know if you all remember me saying but his daughter has been asking a lot lately when I can become her relative and that she wants us to get married right away, usually she means that weekend.

I just love that I dont have to poressure him that they are taking care of it for me!!

BUT I WANT THAT RING!!!

Yucky side note: I had a table of 2 guys on saturday night and the one guy was a little older than me, probably about the same age as jake and he was drinking V.O. Manhatttens. Well any ways he was alwyas smiling at me and flirting with me. At the end of dinner he left me his #! These are the reasons why I take major issue to this!!
1. (he would know if he asked) Jake and I have been dating for 2 and a half years now.
2. He didnt even leave a 20% tip. If you are trying to impress your server dont leave them 15% and expect the girl to swoon and call you
3. He was drinking an old man's drink IMO
4. I DONT CALL GUYS!!

Thats sooo cute!!!

I'm sure it feels good to know you don't need to pressure him...HIS FAMILY ALREADY DOES...And also, That they love you so much they want you in his life...

Toooo cute about his daughter! How old is she? (Sorry if you have already said that in a different post)

I realize that some weird spammer type thing revived this thread, but out of curiosity, Leslee, what's Hawaiian bread? It sounds yummy.

Mmm...I LOVE Hawaiian bread. It's a soft, sweet bread. I've never baked it, but I buy it a lot...you can get it at the supermarket, at least around here. It's a company I think called King's...orange package, round loaf.

ETA: Here's the company. http://www.kingshawaiian.com/ I'm sure other companies make it, and you can probably google for a recipe.

You've never heard of Hawaiian bread? You have to try some. It's delicious. I especially like it with butter and strawberry jam on it, but it so sweet and soft that you can actually eat it plain and it's still good.

At least in my area, it's carried in pretty much every grocery store. The wrapper is partially see-through and has the color orange on it.

My grocer stocks it on a low shelf in front of the deli display. Others I've seen have it with the rest of the breads. You can get big round loaves or packages of (I think) four dinner rolls.

I can't get it where I am....but it's really easy to make...in fact there is a recipe called "Kings Hawaiian Bread"....if you search for it, should be okay....it makes more of a batter than a dough really....super super simple!!!!
