Centerpeices
Well Ladies,
The actual planning has started!!!!!!
WAAAAAHOOOOOOOOOOO!
We would like (more like me) to have funky center pieces...We are using autumn colors, red, oranges, yellows, greens and I do not want flowers as center pieces, I wouldn't mind using candles, if we can make it fun.
Does anyone know of any good websites? or have any ideas? I would appreciate it!
Thanks Girlies!

Will your venue allow candles? Alot of places aren't allowing lit candles?

Since your wedding's in September, I was thinking, instead of a typical fall leaf/cornucopia theme, something capturing a sunset (that used most of the colors you lsted). If candles are allowed, I'd do something with stained glass or something.
Sorry I'm not more specific - I just can't think exactly what to do yet. I'll post again when I think of something.

I am thinking maybe pumpkins and gourds and squash with fall leaves that kind of thing. Or maybe since it is september, something with apples, cinnamon (sp).

I *think* my centerpieces this weekend might have some ideas for you, but I'll have to see. As they were explained to me, there are "found" objects incorporated in our flowers-so little wagons or decorative objects intertwined with the flowers we chose, against a bronzy/gold center cloth on a white tablecloth-does that make sense, or did it sound like we're having a yard sale on our tables? I'll post pictures as soon as I can after the wedding, but maybe they'll help!

At my friend's wedding they used big vases and filled them with different fruits in the right color scheme. They had apples and oranges and I think there were cranberries in there. It was whatever they could find at the store with the right color and right price. She put in a bunch of fruit and then filled it with water. They turned out awesome and different. They ended up putting them on mirror tiles with little candles around to reflect some light but you wouldn't have to.

That is what I originally wanted to do--small apples, clemintines (like little oranges) or kumquats, fresh cranberries. If you do smallish items, you don't even need big vases. I saw photos of this done with limes and lemons for a summer wedding and it looked beautiful.
We ended up doing candles: I had 3 heights of cylinder vases, put colored flat marbles in the bottom in red, green, and clear, and put a single red, green, or cream floating candle in each one. The venue allowed candles as long as they were in glass, with the flame below the level of the glass.
We did not want flowers because we have lots of friends and family with major allergy problems.

I have seen the glass bubbles at craft stores like Hobby Lobby and Micheal's. I think you can get the mirrors there too. I am borrowing mirrors from my SIL, so I havn't bothered looking for them. But I know I have seen the glass bubbles at Hobby Lobby.
