wave Help!!!

Hey everyone! Im quite happy I found this site. Please help me!?!?! I am having an October(2007) wedding. My favortie color is orange and my FH's favorite color is blue. So he choose a colbalt blue. Now I have to come up with a shade of orange that will go with that. I need suggstions. If the orange doesnt work, then I was hoping that chocolate would go with that shade of blue. I would appreciate any type of feedback you guys have.

Chocolate & blue can be really pretty together. I've not seen orange & blue, but that doesn't mean it can't be done. I'm sure you'd just need to find the right tone... Give us some time & I'm sure we'll hunt down some inspiring photos for you

BTW Welcome to Pash!

Orange and blue are complimentary colors, actually. They will look fine together. I would suggest blue as the main and orange as an accent.

Welcome to Pash!!

I agree with Robyn, and I think it could be very nice. I happen to love both cobalt blue and orange, as well. One thing that might help to pick a shade of orange, or a saturation (dark orange? pale, apricot-y orange?) is to go to a paint store and pick up those free paint strip samples. Find the blue you like, then get a bunch that have oranges, and see what you prefer. I think if you go with blue and the main and orange as the accent, though, you could actually go with any number of "hues" of orange.

Going to a fabric store and just laying colors next to each other could also help, but they don't usually give you swatches to take home like you can the paint samples.

I think it could look good, my only problem with it (which isn't even really a problem) is, I live in the Denver area, so it reminds me of the Denver Broncos.

Coinsedentally that happened to be the theme of the one wedding thing I found in those colors, at least you can get an idea for how the colors go together though. I will look more later to find something less sportsy.

I personally like the blue and brown, but it is your wedding, so you really need to go with what you feel comfortable with, and what makes you happy.

I was thinking the same thing - where I live, I generally associate those colors with the New York Mets.

That said, would a different shade of blue be okay with him? I'm thinking light blue and chocolate brown.

Thnak you ladies. I will run that Denver Bronco/ New York Mets thing past the FH. I appreciate that, Because I know if you guys thought of it, then someone else will.

That didn't occur to me, but not being a big sports fan and not being in CO or NY, that isn't my association. But should probably be a consideration. Maybe if you did a paler orange hue, and in small accents rather than a more even distribution?

It sounds like FH would really like cobalt blue, but if he's open to a light blue, I think the light blue and chocolate brown that Maggie suggested are LOVELY together.

I don't live in the CO or NY area but I have to say orange and blue did make me think of a sports team....

But I LOVE the idea of chocolate and pale blue, if your fiance would agree to switch to a pale blue and you like brown. I think it would look very nice.

Default Okay

I have decided on these colors

Thank you for all of you advice. This looks alot better that the bright orange. and it gives me a lot more to work with. Now if I could only figure out which color to choose for the bridesmaid dresses.

I like those! For the bm dresses, you might do it in reverse and look for dresses you like and then see what colors they are offered in, since not everything will probably come in both.
