Default okay, need opinions

Lizbet, you inspired me to get some wedding-y stuff on here! I found this BM dress online and think it's sooooo beautiful. I have no clue what it costs yet(), but wanted input anyway. Thanks girls!

I like the top and the length but I don't like the ruffles. If it was just smooth I'd like the whole thing.

Default I'm not digging the ruffles...

I like the top of the dress, but the bottom part of it is just not my style (the part with the ruffles or layers or whatever those are). Also - think about the body shapes of the women in your wedding party. That dress doesn't look like it would be flattering on too many body shapes.

I do love the color, though. Is that the color you'll be getting it in?

I like the ruffles... on that particular model. That dress would look HORRIBLE on someone with curves like me.

What color will you get it in?

I like the brown that it's pictured in. Yeah, I think it would be fun and swooshy but IDK how it will look on a fuller figured person. It's tough for me to tell if it will be forgiving.

Default Not my taste, but...

I think the dress will look fine if all of your BM's are stick thin and have no butts or hips! But if any of them are curvy down there - yikes.

I think it's beautiful and would wear it in a heart-beat not only for a wedding, but for a formal night out, like a holiday party or New Years Eve party. Love it, love it, love it. I'm going to have to send this to fallbride2b...

IMO, a curvy woman would look like a fat cow in that dress.

I do love the dress....however I would ask your BMs what they think. I could tell you now that probably none of mine would wear it.

I let my girl's choose their own dresses. I know most brides won't do that...but I felt like their dress shouldn't be a huge issue. I would hate for them to spend a ton on a dress that they hate and would never wear again. Besides, I think they appreciated me giving them a say in what they wear.

That is exactly what I was thinking, lol. This is a good dress for someone who needs added curves like someone with a boy or an upside down triangle shape (broad shoulders and small hips).

Default On choosing BM dresses

I invited all of my BM's to try dresses on. Two of my sisters (oldest and youngest) responded that they could make it. I went to David's Bridal with them, showed them dresses I liked, they picked some out and tried them on and we all narrowed it down to 5 or 6. The next trip was with all of the BM's, a couple were VERY late so we went ahead with the girls that were there instead of waiting. They all tried the dresses we had it narrowed down to and I let them vote for their favorite, and that was the dress. The ones who were late (I am talking like an HOUR late with no phone call or anything, not 15-20 minutes late) didn't get a say in the matter. I also let them decide if they wanted to wear the same shoes or get their own, and they all voted for 'same' and voted on a pair. It worked out great.

YUP! I hope all your maid are 5'6 and 100 pounds.

I went to David's Bridal with all of my girls and said "I want you to wear Indigo" Each girl picked her own style. It ended up looking great. I didn't have any "oh, this dress is so hideous" conversations or anything like that.

I would like the dress if it was smooth. I really dislike the ruffles, and as others have said, it would not look good on a curvy woman.

I'm sorry Complicated Woman but if u would ask me to wear that I would lol. Like the other women have said if all your BM are very small with no butt or hips then yea. Us curvy women would be on the next show what not to wear. Sorry...

It's a very striking dress. As a "curvy" ( read fat cow!LOL!) gal I'd have to give it a thumbs down. My big boobs would pop out as the top rolled down to my waist! And the ruffles would make curvaceous ladies look huge.

I have seen before, and love the idea presented in here of having one colour for your bridesmaids and having them/all of you choose dress styles that compliment their figures. It is your day but I'd hate to have one of my friends miserable all day because she doesn't feel comfortable in something I had chosen.

i really love the dress, esp the ruffles...but like the majority of the girls, i don't think it would look very flattering on someone who has curves (i.e. myself). if i had a body of that model, i'd want to wear the dress in a heartbeat! but if you really love the dress, i'd discuss it with your bridesmaids if they'd feel comfortable wearing it.

I like the style a lot... do you have a BM that is the size? Because I don't know if the various flakes on the dress will favor anyone that wasn't at least a small size.

Have you decided you like the brown?

This is a personal opinion: I think that the BM dresses should be a color that is going to make YOU stand out not hide you. I'm not sure if you have looked at the brown next to your white to see how much its going to make you stand out. Also having in mind the color that the guys will be wearing. Wouldn't want it to look like a funeral either... Just my 2 cents.

But i love the dress and the color... I saved the pic to my wedding file just to keep it as an option.

I think the brown would let you stand out B. esp in B&W photos... Have you given any more thought to your BM dresses? This was from a while back, wasn't it?

My cousin's BM's were in black and looked beautiful. They got to pick their own dresses, too.

it appears this dress may not be an issue... i love it, but concur that i might not look so hot in it. but i adore the color!!!
