Thumbs up Beautiful

That's a great page. I loved the side story about the "Great Ring Hunt of '05". But, now I want to know how you accidentally sold your clothes in a lawn sale. LOL

Oh that was drama! Here is how that went down!

I was moving in with my mom to save money for the wedding. Well I had packed all my clothes in some laundry baskets and put them in my car. I left them in my car over night b/c I was tired from moving. The next morning I took my mom's Explorer to go get the rest of my stuff. She needed to use my car. When she got down the road she noticed all my clothes in the back and she needed the back seat to haul stuff. Since she was next to my best friend's house she decided to store the clothes at her house for a few hours. Well, in the mean time...my BFF was having a garage sale. My BFF thought my mom dropped off the clothes for me to sell. So after my mom left she found the clothes and put them out. They all sold within about 20 minutes (we are talking about $1000+ worth of bras, panties, work clothes, shorts, t-shirts, etc)

I was so depressed! Can you imagine needing to shower after a long day of moving just to find out you HAVE no clothes to put on?

Did I mention I only got $28 from the sell of all of my clothes? OUCH!!!

Thanks for sharing your story!

Your BFF is silly. Did she not recognize the clothing as being everything she sees you wear? I would have been EXTREMELY pissed off if I was in your position.

Oh you have NO idea how upset I was. I didn't know if I should be mad at her or my mom. I was seriously in FREAK OUT mode! I couldn't even talk to her.

Once I calmed down I realized it was a careless mistake. My BFF is the best...but very dingy at times. But it all turned out in my favor...I got tons of brand new clothes! How often does someone get a complete new wardrobe? It was a huge blessing b/c I had been wanting new clothes lately but didn't know how to get them....so it was a blessing in disguise!

Who paid for the clothes? Did they at least HELP you, or did you have to replace everything with your own money?

I got the $28...whoo hoo

Then my friends all pitched in and gave me cash here and there (that was a very humbling experience). My BFF gave me like $200, my brother gave me his credit card!!! Then I had a co-worker go through her own clothes and give me about 90% of what I own now. Most of which still had the tags! She is an avid shopper but doesn't wear what she buys for some reason. She has great clothes...so now so do I, lol!

I wouldn't care how many times you washed someone's underwear...is it ever so clean you would actually put it on? I wouldn't even wear my best friend's washed panties...that's just SICK!!!!!

that's true. I wasn't specifically talking about panties, but other clothes in general. Panties, no, I would never wear someone elses or second hand ones. Brand new ones for me!

LMAO, I can not believe that people bought dirty clothes and used underwear! It was so sweet of everyone to help you buy a new wardrobe...I know I'd be bummed but would love the excuse to do heavy duty shopping...I'm such a clothes horse...

Not to bump up my own thread

But I just wanted to celebrate that tomorrow is our 4 month anniversary! I can't believe how fast these past 4 months have gone by. I feel like it was just the other day that I was mad at some bridesmaids, LOL!

Has anyone else felt like time has gone by really fast for them?

(Can this thread be transferred to the newlywed journals?)

I can't believe it has been 4 months since you've gotten married either!!! I know time has flown by super fast for me. I remember clearly when we had a year left until the wedding, and today is 3 months until the wedding.

Are you guys doing anything to celebrate?

His brother's 14th birthday party and then a Mother's Day supper...does that count?

I think when I leave work I'll go to Hallmark and get him a card. I want to always try to celebrate the milestones.

Nope, not yet I wish we had them already. Justin has seen a lot of them b/c the couple was over one weekend with their laptop and she was working on them. I was jealous he saw some and I didn't.

As soon as we get the disks they will be up on our site and ready to be viewed by the world, LOL!

I just read your page - I had to laugh about the "Great Ring Hunt of '05!"

Congrats on 4 months!

Yes, time has completely flown for me too! I've been married for almost 7 months already! It's totally crazy! When we hit our 6 month anniversary, we were at our friends' child's party and someone asked how long it had been. We looked at each other and thought about it and were like, Oh my gosh! It's been 6 months today! Then DH grabbed some champagne on his way home from his play and we celebrated a little.

That was a great story... God bless.
