Early Bday Gift
I rec'd an early birthday gift from Mike last night. (His bday is today, mine is on the 10th.) He upgraded my engagement ring to a radiant cut diamond.  The main stone is 1.22 and the baguettes on the band and on my wedding band bring it up to just over 1.5. It's VS1 - F (colorless) and it's the most beautiful stone I've ever seen. I'm a big fan of emerald cut, which is what my old diamond was, but this is as close to the shape as you can get, and it has all the sparkles that an emerald cut doesn't have.
I feel like I'm engaged all over again. I had to give up my rings for 4 days and I actually cried when I did. I hate being without them and I loved my rings as they were, but I have to admit I'm mesmerized by the new one. I'll try to take a photo, but it'll be with my phone as our digital camera is dead...

LOL! Not at all... Let me see if I can get at least one pic out of the digital. We keep putting new batteries in it, get one photo and then it just dies. It's time for a new one, this one has lasted us five good years though!

I knew I was giving it up, but I thought it was to put another band on the other side of the ring like we had talked about, so the engagement ring would be in the middle of two bands, if that makes sense...

He got a 32 inch flat screen mounted on a swivel arm so you can turn it to face where you want in the room. We also redid a room into a funky poker lounge and bought new furniture, etc. That was kind of a gift to each other. I have before and after pictures but my camera is dead.

Oh my gosh! That's beautiful! but you seriously need to get a better picture up there... Did he get to keep the old stones, or did he trade them in? If he kept them you shuold have them made into a necklace or something...
