Default OVER registering?

FH and I registered at Target last week just for fun (he was so excited he got to carry the gun!) and I read in the materials they gave us that we should register for TWICE as many gifts as there were guests, to give them lots of things to choose from. I personally think this kind of looks grubby. What did everyone else do?

I don't think I did twice but I tried to put enough for a selection. When I am trying to buy a gift for a couple, I do like a lot to choose from. I would say go ahead and do double. I think people are more concerned about what they can get you, rather than how much you have on your registry.

One of my old friends who invited me to her wedding had nothing but Kate Spade stuff on her registry and she didnt have much of a selection either so she ended up with a gift card from me because i was NOT about to pay $80 for a calvin klein salt and pepper shaker! we were shocked cuz this girl was never into brand names and such.

I dont think you should worry about over registering. Just be sure there's choices and different price ranges and plus everyone knows you just getting married so you pretty much need anything

I've never paid attention to how many items were on a gift registry as compared to how big the wedding list was. Plus, how is anyone going to know how big your wedding will be until the day of and then they're not thinking of your registry anymore. IMO, it's better to have more options for your guests than too little. Load up that registry!!
