Default Flowergirl dresses

Which of these dresses do you all like for my flowergirls? They are both my nieces and will be almost 5 and 3 at the time of the wedding. Oh, and I haven't decided on a color for the flowergirls yet if you have any ideas on that too. My BM dresses are periwinkle (blue/purple) from DB. The wedding will be pretty informal so I didn't want frilly dresses for them. Plus, I just don't think little girls are as cute all frilled up as in a simple sundress.

My favorites are the last two. I really like the last one but I also really like the underskirt of the second one. Let me know what you think!!

ETA: The second one is growing on me the more I look at it!

I would go with #2 or #3. I don't really care for #1.

I would put them in the same shade as your bridesmaids. If you're going with dress #2, I would probably do the overlay in white (if you're wearing white). If you're going with dress #3, I would probably use white for the rickrack at the top of the dress and for the ribbon that goes around the waist.

You could do a combination... You could have the last one with a tulle underskirt added in! It really wouldn't be that difficult, because you'd just need to attach another strip of fabric not creat a full underskirt.

I used a McCalls pattern for my FGs & altered it too
Let me know if you'd like to see a pic.

I really like the second one and I agree that it should be the same blue or a blue in the same family as the other girls. Then the overlay in white or whatever color you are wearing. That way they will match both of you.

I like that Idea too! I think the 3rd one is absolutely adorable and it would look really really cute with a little bit of tulle peaking out!!

Thanks girls. I didn't even think about doing them in different colors (the underlay and the dress) I remember yours Ann - the dresses were beautiful. My nieces are going to look so cute ! Now for getting my mom to make them since I have absolutely no sewing talent and I live 1/2 way across the country from them.

I am going home to visit in March and I'll look at materials with mom and sis then. But I may just have to do looking on my own until then (since I can't wait until March to look)!

I like the 3rd one, I don't particular care for the 2nd one.... I also agree that should be the same color....
