Default Bed and breakfasts -- ideal 'homes' for weddings

Just wanted to share one of my favorite tips for wedding locations -- look at bed and breakfasts! Not only are they charming, cozy places for your out-of-town relatives to stay -- providing a home-like atmosphere that's often way better than a standard hotel room block -- they can also save you money. If all of your guests get breakfast as part of their room rates, that's an 'event' that you don't have to provide. Yes, some B&Bs are expensive, and you have to research and tour to find the best ones, but it provides something new and different for guests. And some couples rent out the entire place for use of the grounds, courtyard, gardens, gazebos and libraries for their rehearsal dinners and even their small weddings. You might be surprised to find ones in your own hometown -- I just found one down the street from me! Never knew it was there! Check out www.BnBFinder.com to get started on your search...

And if you have a B&B story to share, we'd all love to hear about your experience!

We researched a beautiful B&B in Charleston that had gourgeous gardens overlooking the bay. What told us not to do it there was that we could not have any music because of the noise ordinance. But besides that, I say go for it. They will usually let you book the whole place for a discount, too.
