Default How many are you having???

I'm just wondering how many people you are having (or had) in your immediate bridal party i.e. Bridesmaids and Groomsmen (not ushers etc...)

We are having 5 Bridesmaids and 3 Goomsmen - we originally had 3 of each but then we got a bit carried away when we were drunk one night and asked an extra two of our girlfriends! I do regret that a wee bit cause I am now thinking that 5 Bridesmaids is a little OTT!

Don't stress! We're having 7 and 7. It just sort of worked out that way-I couldn't imagine getting married without these girls standing beside me.

Funny story...

Before Rick & I were engaged, we were talking one day about who we would have in our bridal party (probably on the drive back from someone else's wedding). He asked how many he was "allowed" and I replied I was having 3 - my lil' sis, my best friend and his sister and that I expected him to have my bro and his bro. So he said "ok, then I'll have Nathan (his bro), John (my bro) and Benjoezac"... it took me a minute to figure out that he meant his 3 friends Ben, Joe, and Zac I told him I didn't think they would all fit in the same tux.

So originally we were going to leave it like that, but I think I am leaning towards including my older sis as well, since I was flower girl in her wedding, and maybe another one of my friends... so that will make it 5 and 5, plus little Natalie as the flower girl. It works out well b/c we're doing a handfasting and we can have one "set" of attendants at each of the four corners (N, S, E, and W) and one "set" standing with us.

This is how our wedding party was set up:

MOH (my sister)
Best Man (my husband's best friend)

Two bridesmaids (my best friend and one of my cousins)
Two groomsmen (my BIL and my cousin's husband)

Two jr. groomsmen (my brother and my oldest son)
Two jr. bridesmaids (my step-sister and my best friend's little sister)

Flower girl and bearer (our two younger kids)

I didn't plan on having my BIL and my cousin's husband as groomsmen (my husband was supposed to pick them from his group of friends), but he waited too long to ask one of his friends, and he didn't want to ask his other friend because the other friend's wife had recently passed away.

DJ has one best man and three groomsmen. I have one maid of honour, one man of honour, and two bridesmaids. No flower girl or ring bearer, as our wedding is child-free.

I had 3 attendants, DH had 4 attendants, and we had 2 flower girls.

My brother (a GM) walked my mother in, and then each of the remaining attendants walked in together and took their place up by DH. On the way out, my sister (MOH) was escorted by the best man and my brother (a groomsman).

Oy Vey! Right now, I have 5 bridesmaids, and he has EIGHT groomsmen! Plus, he wants to ask my brothers. There is a very distinct possibility that we will end up with ten each! Our wedding will be between 150-200 people, in Vegas. I always wanted a big bridal party, but I never imagined it to be THAT big!

Part of me feels like it is absurd, and another part of me thinks it's my wedding and I can do whatever I want...
