Lightbulb Bridal Party Meeting

Hello all, My name is La Wanda.

I have a question for you all, I'm planning a meeting for my bridal party to try and get a jump on things.

My wedding isn't until 2/08 but thought it would be a good start to try and let them know about dresses, meet one another, and find out if they can handle the duties of a bridesmaid.

Here's my question. Have you all seen any cards or invites for this situation?? I have seen some cards where I can have them personally made on the computer and purchase but they are 2.99 each. This is the first and I know this won't be the last of the meetings. Also I wanted some reminders cards to remind them about certain events (dress fitting, etc).

What do you think.

I think its nice for you to want to get every one together. Cards will be cute but I wouldn't over load the card thing. I know if I was in a wedding and the bride keeps sending me cards telling me i need to be here and there I would start to think that she didn't trust me.

Welcome to PASH!

Hi La Wanda, welcome to Pash!

What I and a friend did while planning our wedding was to send an e-mail "newsletter" about once a month to keep everyone updated. I think that getting everyone together to meet is a great idea if they don't already know each other.

What I would do is go to your local Office Max, Staples, or some place like that and buy a box of cardstock so you can make your own cards and personalize each one. I would simply plan to invite them to lunch at a restaurant (your treat) or to your home where you can make some food yourself and save money. If you plan to do this a few times, you'll already have the proper paper for the invites so you won't have to buy more.

I wouldn't worry too much about the dress fitting reminder cards. Where ever they purchase their dress from should give them the cards.

Default Thanks Ladies

You all make things so easy.

And the trust thing never thought of it that way.

HI!!! Welcome to Pash!
I like the idea of a newsletter, or make a website for your wedding and then everyone can know what is going on. I think a calendar might be a good idea becasue you can make those on your comp too. But a calendar might come across the wrong way to people. Or you could put the calendar on your website! I dont know....

I'm not all that formal, so keep that in mind when reading my opinion. I would just call and invite them. They are all really good friends of yours and then you could personally make sure that a certain day and time worked for everyone. But, like I said, I'm not that formal. And invites to something like this just seems very formal.
