Default Newbie With A Question

Hi Everyone! AS of right now, FH and I are using Cornflower blue and ivory as our colors. I think thats what we are sticking with because he really wants the blue. I know that I can find a lot of stuff that is blue but I'm discovering that everyone has their own idea of what 'cornflower' is. DId anyone here use cornflower in their wedding? If you did-- and you have any advice, that would be VERY VERY much appreciated.

BTW-- I know I need to post an intro in the journal part but I wasn't sure what to write. I promise I'll get to it ASAP!

Hey, welcome to Pash!

I am not using cornflower, but what you might want to do is find a ribbon or fabric that is the color you think cornflower should be and tuck some into your planner and keep some in your purse, then just pull it out when you need to compare.

Sounds like a great combo, looking forward to hearing more about you and your fiancé.

(But you don't HAVE to post an intro if you don't want -- feel free to just jump in! )

I have no idea what cornflower blue is supposed to look like.

Welcome to Pash!

First, welcome to Pash! I agree with CW- find a ribbon or swatch of fabric in the "cornflower" color you really like, and carry some around with you.

A big part of our decorations was sea glass and our wedding colors were the sea foam green and the aqua blue we ordered the sea glass in. I took to carrying around small pieces of sea glass so I could color compare when I was looking for decorations, and it really helped.

When are you getting married?

I really think that’s a good idea. Just find something that looks like the color you are looking for and go from there. Welcome to Pash!!!

I would definately find an example of the color you want. and if the colors look alright next to eachother you are doing good! Not everything has to PERFECTLY match everything else. It is more visually interesting if colors are slightly off. for example the same base color but slightly lighter or slightly darker. That is something they teach us in design school.

Thanks for the replies ladies!!! Actually I just finally had a chance to sit down and read them and its funny because I was at JoAnn Fabrics getting thread when I saw "Light Cornflower" and "Cornflower" thread so I picked it up to buy it and then thought about looking if they had a cornflower blue BroadCloth over by the quilting stuff - and they did so I bought an 1/8th of a yard and now i have a physical swatch. I also bought one of the threads too because the shade is a little bit different but not that far off! I think that getting a piece of the material is an excellent idea and I know that had I read your replies before going to the store, I would have ran out to the store right away. LOL

Thanks Again! And thanks for all the warm welcomes too!
