Before Purchasing veils and tiaras... Check out EBAY
Hey,
Before purchasing veils and tiaras, go on ebay and search for them. I found the style number of both the tiara and veil that I wanted and searched for them on E-bay and saved $200!!!!! Just make sure to check seller feedback and ask seller lots of questions. My purchases:

Be patient... if you don't see what you like right away, keep trying. Also, search for David Bridal veils in the search engine, talk to the sellers and tell them which veil style number you are looking for, and they might be able to find one for you. Thats how I found mine. Good luck!!!!

I did the same thing! I got my veil on Ebay for next to nothing and I have not seen anything like it in stores around here.
Good tip!

Bridal veil
Besides checking e-bay, a much less expensive alternative is having your veil made, either by a family member or your alteration specialist. I just made a veil for an alteration client. It was EXACTLY what she wanted, half the price of David's, and a fair price for me. Veils are made from tulle, and it is INEXPENSIVE. Many Brides today only want a veil gathered to a comb, which can be removed for the reception. They wear a tiara, cap, or nothing else which remains during the reception. This is the way I will go for my second and last marriage next year.

I sort of made mine (I bought it at Hobby Lobby, but changed some things on it) and I know michaelsbride made hers herself. It's really not that hard to do, and I think I spent $10 total. (But I also had a lot of extra fabric that I didn't need to buy too.)

You can use that extra fabric in so many ways!!!! I think that I will have my Mom make my purse out of my Grandmother's veil (which is ivory too). You can also use it to decorate chairs, the cake table, the list goes on.....

Veils are quite simple to make and they are really inexpensive mine cost less than $4.00 and took 2 hrs if you are thinking about making your own veil but are not sure. Try it if you dont like the result you can either try it again or just go out an buy one.

Thanks MarthaA! I see so many people spending $100+ on veils...I said forget that!! I will research first!! My best friend spent $120-$150 on hers! And mine look like it was professionally done!

That was a beautiful veil you got for $20 off of Ebay. Wilton also sells prepacked veils and you can find them at Wal-Mart or the big craft stores. The tiaras there, are pretty tacky looking, however. Check out the discount quality tiaras, especially the ones on clearance, at www.beautiful-bridal.com. Kathy

I got my veil for $14 dollars from AC Moore -- it's perfect for my purposes and falls in a nice spot on my dress -- so if you feel like you shouldn't have to spend $200 on a veil, it's true, you don't!

I got my DD's Swarovski crystal tiara on e-bay for less than $20, even with shipping! What a deal.

Another site for tiaras, etc., especially if you are into Renaissance, but some will work for all is www.renstore.com. They have tiaras, circlets, jewelry... and all at a very reasonable price. Again, tulle is cheap, gathering it is simple, and it doesn't need a hem, just cut it. Unless you want an edging, embroidery or beading, E-bay, DIY, or you local seamstress is the way to go.

For my tiara, I fell in love with one at DB but refuse to pay that much for it! I found it on eBay for about $35, and I'm holding out hoping to find it a little bit cheaper. I love eBay!
I'm having my dress made by a seamstress (she specializes in weddings, she's amazing!) and when I mentioned a veil, she said she's included my veil in the cost of my dress. She said veils are so cheap to make, and she can make it anyway I want!
