I'm baaaack
Sorry it's been awhile, but I just set my computer up today!!!!! It took a few weeks for it to arrive (they had a shortage of drivers and truck available and neglected to tell me until after I got here!! Luckily, we were given some furniture and stuff until we moved in to hold us over!!).
Anyway, I am in my new home now and it's nice. I live in a very very small town.
I have already been to a wedding since coming here. One of my husbands fellow soldiers. He got married on post in a small chapel. The wedding was about 10 minutes. The dress was gorgeous -- strapless with red trim (I've seen it on here). Bridesmaids wore royal blue and the candle lighters wore red. Colors were blue and red!!! The reception was interesting. It was at the Elks club and nothing was set up when we got there. Could only buy drinks until the wedding party arrived an hour later and then they decorated while we sat there. Food was good -- sandwiches and cold salds and fried chicken!!! YUM!!!
My cat ran away from MIL's house She didn't seem too concerned
That's it for now.

Welcome back! I bet it must be nice to be with your DH finally! How's the new house? Do you like living in a small town? Sorry to hear about your kitty, I hope it'll show up soon.

The new house is nice -- it's a single wide trailer, but it's what I would consider a double wide(to me, a single is like a motor home!!). We have 2 bedrooms, decent size living room, pretty good kitchen/dining room and bathroom.
I like living in a small town. I can walk everywhere (I am getting a bike this week though for more comfort!!) and people are very friendly.
I don't think the cat is coming back. Maybe it will find it's way back to the apartment!!! People there know her and she would be taken care of and be able to enjoy her freedom. I'm sad that she is missing, though.

I'm glad you're back and settled into your new place!
Sorry about the cat. It probably will head toward the old place but I'd bet it will wind up back at your MIL's. Cats are pretty intelligent.

Sorry to hear about your cat... do you think it's out looking for you? I've heard stories about cats running away just as the owners are about to move, and cat has some sort of radar capabilities that helps it find the owners in the new location.
Anyway, glad you're back!

I think the cat is looking for me, but I figured she'd try to go back to the apartment complex because that's where she's always lived (even before I adopted her -- everyone fed her so she had it pretty good, only she kept getting pregnant!!). If she shows up here that will be amazing.

Hi Robyn! I was thinking about you the other day wondering how your move went. People in Kansas are nice there, aren't they? (I was born and raised there.) I'm sorry about your kitty - she'll be okay though.
I'm glad your house is good and everything else seems like it's going well.

Yes, people here are very nice. Last night I went to a pizza place in the nearest town(6-8 miles away) and one guy in there recognized my car -- turns out he lives right down the street from me!!! He was very friendly and told me if I or DH need anything to come down and then he told me about a halloween party someone has every year and everyone in town (where I live) is invited.
I had a hard time adjusting when I first got here. I cried all the time and was very homesick. I'm still a little homesick, but it is getting easier and I am soooo happy to be with TJ. He is being deployed next month, though, for a year, so I don't know what I will do then. I'm trying to get involved with the Family Readiness Group on post and TJ wants me to get to know the wives of the guys in his section(troop? unit?), but I tried and I didn't really hit it off with anyone. I'm going on a day trip with women from church on Friday and I met one of my neighbors who seemed really nice and is an army wife. I told my husband that it takes time to make friends and I would rather make my own friends than have him pick them for me (I think he expected me to be best friends with the wife of his best friend and then be friends with all the other wives of his fellow soldiers). Anyway, I've always made friends wherever I've gone, it just doesn't happen overnight. I also plan to go back to work in January (I am trying to spend time with DH before he leaves and then I am going to California for Christmas and New Years to be with my mom and see my friends and family there) so I know I will be busy and meeting people.

Well, I burnt dinner for the first time And I burned myself
I was making refried beans from a dry mixture and set the lid down and managed to press the top of my hand against it It stings!!!!! DH took over stirring the beans and discovered they were burnt on bottom It didn't look that bad, though, and we tried eating it(and he will usually eat anything ), but gave up and ordered a pizza. Luckily there's a place right up the road so we don't have to drive all the way into town.

I have 2 friends in WA, Kim. One in Bothell and one in Spokane. I had another in Tacoma, but she was only there for school and is in Cleveland now doing her podiatry residency.
