I have been having trouble with my face and it ping-ponging between oily and dry. I use makeup remover/face wipes daily and it seems to dry my face out...and my face is always very dry when I get out of the shower or after I wash it. I can't find any moisturizer that doesn't make my face oily...can anyone recommend a face wash/moisturizer that keeps a good balance? I don't have much acne, but some spots around my chin area that I'm looking to fix too.

Clinique has a great moisturizing gel. It is great! Good moisturizer, but not oily at all. Also, maybe your face wash is too harsh. You might try AcneFree from WalMart, its a cheap version of Proactiv, but works just the same.

Don't use the wipes. They're way too harsh. That's like exfoliating your face every single day and it's not a good thing. Go back to getting a basic cleanser for combination skin, the kind you slather on and massage onto your face. Loreal had a nice one with Kaolin clay.

Oil of Olay has a small tub of face cream which is oil free. It's like a standard cream in original packaging, nothing exotic or fancy. It's been working very well for me. I've got dry patches on either side of my mouth, more like my cheek area but lower, and my face it otherwise normal to oily. I just apply it to the dry areas and under my eyes.

If you feel your skin getting oily again, include a toner for combo skin in your routine after you wash and before you moisturize. Good luck!

I'm with cru5h. I have the same lovely dry patches on my face, lol. I use and ADORE Oil of Olay. My grandmother swore by it and always looked at least 15 years younger than her true age. It's not greasy at all, and if you get the type with the SPF of 15, even better.

I've also got combo skin and a friend recommended Oil of Olay. I love it too--I use the O.O. Complete (w/ SPF) for sensitive skin. I didn't like the fragrance of the original formula, so if you're sensitive to fragrance just be sure to get the unscented one.

I swear by Olay products as well. They have an oil free moisturizer that works really well. cru5h is right about the wipes - those are really harsh on your face and they can actually cause you to produce more oil in your oily areas and make your dry areas even dryer. Those pre-moistened wipes can actually do more damage than good sometimes. You do wipe off some makeup, oil and grime, but a lot of it just gets pushed deeper into your pores, and it leaves a residue. It's better to use something that you rinse completely off of your face. Be careful not to use water that is too hot on your face. And be sure to always wash your face and moisturize before bed. Remember that whenever you change your skin care routine, there is going to be a period of adjustment! If you start using an oil-free mousturizer, or a new cleanser, your skin may not respond the way you think it will. It could initially be oilier or drier. Give it a couple of weeks of consistent treatment to adjust to the new products before deciding if they are the right products for you. If you use a powder compact for touchups during the day, do not put powder on over shine! Blot (don't wipe) any excess oil before touching up your makeup. You will find that you need less product to tone down the shine and will not need to powder as often. If you use powder or foundation over your moisturizer, wait for a minute or after applying your moisturizer to allow it to absorb into your skin.

In the summer my face gets really oily. I haven't tried the Clinique products yet at all, but I've heard they are good. I like Hydroderm and a few others that make specific oil-control facial cleansers and moisturizers. My all-time favorite moisturizer is the Hydroderm intense oil free moisturizer. It makes your face so soft! You have to really watch what is put into the cleansers and make sure they are water-based instead of oil-based if you have oily skin. Here's a link to the moisturizer: www.hydroderm.us Apply it once a day to help with the dryness and oil.

I use Basis face cleanser... the liquid, not the soap. I put it on a small loofa and then on my face, the loofa kinda exfoiliates my skin. Then I follow with Oil of Olay lotion. I love it and I never have break outs or splotchy skin

I use the face products from bath and body works. They use all natural ingredients. They have a 2 step system. Cleanser and moisturizer. The cleanser is really good cuz you dont have to use a toner. I would reccommend the oat if youre really oily or the rice formula for combination skin.
What i do is wash my face with the cleanser for oily and moisturize with the combination moisturizer. You have to see what works best for you.

I agree with the others, the cloths youre using is stripping your skin. Make sure theres no alcohol in there and do go with a regular face wash that you have to rinse off.

I recently started using clinique's makeup. I did buy the spot treatment they have for pimples and it works great! I highly recommend that one. Good luck

My skin is a real problem with acne and I'm 25. I use Proactive and find it is the only thing that works for my skin. I would definitely recommend it if you have oily and dry skin. Check it out on the internet to get more information about how it works. I've tried ALL the knock off brands that claim to be just the same, but they're just not as good. You need the real stuff, and you have to use it exactly as it says for it to work the best. It is well worth the price of having beautiful clear skin. My face would be a mess if I didn't use it. Now I only get the odd pimple once a month. It's amazing

I have the same problem with my skin. It took me years to find the right products. I use a light mosterizer. I order it from an online company. It is not oily!!! I think it would work for you.

MD skincare works like a charm for my skin. I ordered some more this weekend. It saves me time if I order it online (as opposed to going five minutes away to the nearest Ulta, ha ha!) If you're lazy like me, you can go here to find it- http://md-skincare.00freehost.com It has made my face clear and smooth.

I have had a lot of luck with Kinerase products. I have combination skin and their lotion and cleanser makes my skin so smooth and soft, but not overly moisturized. You should check it out: http://genuine.bz/kinerase

If you want to look younger, take it from me, prevage works: http://authentic-prevage.0catch.com

Everyone's skin is different so i would recommend trying a product and if it doesn't work try something else (this is what i did intil i found something that my skin agreed with) I use Noxzema, i use the facial wash (it is in a big tub and it does have a very strong smell to it but it works good) It really does great for my skin, it won't dry it out but i don't use it everyday, i use it every other day and it is good. (i just need to work on getting rid of "period" pimples!!!
