Rachel and Ian's Wedding
I hava all this posted in the journals too, but I am moving it over here so I can find it easier. And I think this a more appropriate place anyway, so here goes. . .
My original post
(Pictures Below) OK so I don't really know what I am doing with this yet, but I decided i want to start a little wedding journal thingy to keep all my ideas together, instead of wandering all over the forum to find what I posted. So here goes, I guess i will start with the basics and go from there. . .

My Bridesmaids' Dresses
I went down to Fort Collins to buy my dress with my mom, my matron of honor, and one of my bridesmaids. So we looked at a couple bridesmaids dresses, and flower girl dresses while we were there too, but havn't made any final decisions on any of them.
We are going to do mix and Match dresses for the bridesmaids, so they can find something they are comfortable in. We were going to go thru Davids Bridal, but decided on Alfred Angelo instead, since we get a discount at the bridal shop I bought my dress at.
Here is the link to my bridesmaids mix and match dresses (they look a little frumpy on the web sight, but great in person - and they will match the color of my dress perfectly):

Flower girl dresses I was looking at (or we might just go with cute easter dresses - don't know yet):

** I couldn't find a picture of the one I really likes for $55.00 each, but I found the above FG dress i liked as well**

My Music
CERIMONY
** We will be having a live woodwind Cortet at the Cerimony **
* Mothers walking in - Bernstein - "One Hand, One Heart"
* Wedding Party Processional - Handel - "Horpipe" (Water Musci)
* Bridal Procession - Bach - Cannon in D
* Recessional - Clark - Prince of Denmark March
* I would also like these songs played while people are seating - Mouret - "Rondo" // Vivaldi - "Spring" (From Four Seasons) // Bach - "Badinerie" // Handel - "La Rejouissance" // Motzart - "K157-3rd Mov."
* If you want to hear the songs I am using I found them all on this websight - http://www.annepaisley.com/sound_clips.html **
**Ian is thinking he may want to walk down the isle to music as well (we know it is untraditional), but he is undecided so far. **
RECEPTION
** We will have a DJ at the Reception**
* Couples First Dance - Savage Garden - "Truly Madly Deeply"
* Father Daughter Dance - Hartland - "I loved her First"
* Mother Son Dance (Azriel*my son* and I) - Billy Dean - "If there hadn't been you"
* Mother Son Dance (Ian and His Mom)- Ian doesn't know yet
* I havn't though of a whole lot of other songs to have played at the reception, but I to want a "copa Cabana" conga line , and possibly "Stokin" and "Cha Cha Slide", but as for actual songs I have themes (Oldies, Country, Hip Hop, Pop/Top 40, Swing, and 90's - I like all kinds of music) But I don't have any actual songs picked out yet*
**I don't think we are going to do a 'money dance' or 'bridal party dance', but that may change **
*** We are having a seperate room for the kids to stay in during the reception, with movies, games, toys, and other activities for them, but, we are thinking we may bring them out for a short time and at that time we would do the:
"Chicken Dance"; "Hokey Pokey"; "Limbo" (adults can do it too if they want to); "YMCA"; "Macarena"; and I have to play Ronald Blackwell's "Li'l Red Riding Hood", because it is my son's faverite song ***
This is the websight for my DJ -

They are actually one of the best in the tri-state area

Family Vows and Medallions
We are thinking about doing a 'family cerimony' after the Cerimony between Ian and I. We are thinking of doing simple vows with him and exchanging the medallions below.
Either way we are going to give him a medallion, and Ian and I are going to get larger ones, we are probobly going to ge with the medallion necklaces, but we may get a ring for Ace (however I doubt it because he is still so little)

Vows between Ian and Ace
It's fine, I have no problems sharing ideas. Thanks for the compliments about my sight. It is nice to hear about others sharing there day with there kids. Sharing this day with my son, Azriel, means the world to me.
We are going to be doing a seperate cerimony after the 'Wedding Cerimony' I think the common tern is a 'Family Cermony' and that is when we will do everything with Ace.
We will also do a sand cerimony with Azreil in addition to the vows at this cerimony, and we are giving him a 'Family Medallion' as a form of his 'wedding ring', so he get's something special too.
Here are some examples of vows we are looking at. I got these out of a book I own, "Complete Book of Wedding Vows" by Diane Warner, I tweeked it a little for our needs (I added our names and a few other changes), but you get the idea:
Vows 1(Step Parent and Child)
Officiant: "Do you, Ian, take Azriel as your own child promising to love him and care for him providing for his needs both phisically and emotionally?"
Ian: "I Do"
Officiant (addressing the Azriel): "And do you Azriel, take Ian, to be your loving father/step father from this day forward?"
Azriel: "I Do"
Ian (addessing the Azriel): " Azriel, I place this ring on your finger/ give you this medallion as a sign of my loving promise made this day."
At this point he gives him the medallion or ring and a hug and kiss.
******
Vows 2 (just Step Parent)
Officiant: "Ian Do you wish to take Rachel's son Azriel as your own son?"
Ian: "I do"
Officiant: "Do you promise to love him, raise him, guide him, teach him, and be a father to him?"
Ian: "I do"
Officiant: "Do you havesomething to give him?"
Ian: "Yes"
At this point he gives him the medallion or ring and a hug and kiss.
******
Vows 3 (just Step Parent - Short)
Ian: "Azriel, I promise to be a good father to you, to protect you, to support and comfort you and our family, and to love you all the days of my life"
At this point he gives him the medallion or ring and a hug and kiss.
******
Vows 4 (just Step Parent - Short)
Ian: I love your mommy and today I have taken her to be my wife. But you know I love you dearly as well. I want to be a father to you and invite you into my heart and life. We will have happy times together, you and your momy and I. With this ring / medallion, I give you my love
At this point he gives him the medallion or ring and a hug and kiss.
******
Ian is also thiking he may write his own vows to Ace, but they will probobly be along these lines.

Oh Rachel...I love that!!!! There are so many blended families nowadays and I think it is really important for the kids to know that their Mom or Dad isn't being taken away but rather a new person is entereing their family and loves them too. Sooo great!!
All your "stuff" is looking awesome too!!

Flowers
I am pretty sure we will be going thru proflowers.com for our flowers. I think we will be going with the Romantic Roses in In White and Red (bouqutes in white, centerpeices and decorations in red, I'm not sure about the colors of the coursages, boutaneers, etc, but they will be in white or red)
Romantic Rose True White
Romantic Rose Red
 [/quote]
Royal Rose True White
Royal Rose Red
There is still a chance we may go with the royal instead of romantic.
Here is the sight if you want to see the Bridesmaids Bouquets, Centerpieces, Mothers Bouquets, Boutonnieres, and Corsages

My mom is making my tiara for me, it will be silver with plain crystals.
I don't have a picture of the exact one, because she's not done yet, but it a combination of these two

Everything looks great, Rachel!!
I like the purses for the flower girls, but the middle flower basket looks like it would match their dresses perfectly!!
Only a little over 7 months now, I see!!!

everything looks wonderful. Make sure you decide the mens tux/shirt colors before you pick their boutenier colors, just to make sure the colors dont clash.

Oh thanks Shaks18, Funny I never even really thought of that. Thanks for the heads up, now i will deffinatly keep it in mind, and remind Ian too as well.
He he he, Ian won't go tux shopping (for him or the GM) without me, I guess I really do have to have a say in everything in the wedding (unless my mother vito's it and makes the choice hers instead ). As for the guys though, I really don't care if they go on there own, but if he really wants me to go, I will, they are all my friends too, so I can go and hang out I guess.

My mom and I went to interview the cake lady today, and we came up with an all new cake idea.
We want an octoganal cake with slighly seperated teirs, and have roses and lillies in between the teirs. We are going to get it with white Icing with champagen designs(possibly to match the desighn in my dress).
Since we are coompletely creating this off the tops of our heads with no set design there is no picture I can show that fits it but it's kind of a combination of these. . . .
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Shape of the cake (octogan)
This is the way the teirs are seperated with flowers, ours will be a little closer together (we won't be able to stack the flowers on top of eachother), we are thinking placing them rose, lilly, rose, lilly, rose, lilly, etc.
And this is the design on my dress we want to be done in the champaigne color (it's kinda hard to see, but it's the best pic I got so far)
OR we may decorate each teir differntly similar to this (but different)
