Default Interesting website

You can enter your zip code on this website and it will tell you what the "adverage" wedding cost in that zip code.
http://www.costofwedding.com/

we got married in Huntington Beach California here's the output (which is actually lower than I though)

On average, couples will spend $45,083.60 for their wedding in Huntington Beach, California 92648. This does not include cost for a honeymoon, engagement ring, bridal consultant or wedding planner. Add that in and cost could reach $59,776.00.

We spent about $8000 including rings, flying DH's parents out, and 5 hotel rooms. (this also included our parents surprising us with all the wall covers for our reception site... which was their wedding present to us looked amazing!)

I'm hoping in the next few months to do a breakdown of our cost and share it.

My Brother and his FI live outside Ft. lauderdale in Boca there wedding isn't until March of next year and they are already WELL over 20,000.

There wedding will be spectaculare and I'm glad they are doing what suites them. But I don't think the memories are any better than our splashy little wedding

If you have the $ and can do it then great, more power to you!!! If you don't and are trying to keep up with the jones and going to go into debt over your wedding... please re-think your future!!!

Where I'm from - $35,187.20
Where I live with Mike - $30,513.90

My budget is less then 1/3 of that.... but I can see easily how it could cost that. I mean I cut alot of corners and am doing a ton of work myself. If I had paid full price for a wedding dress and veil and what not it could easily be that much.

It says $25,000 for my area.

Yeah....we spent waaaaayyyy less than that, and it wasn't the most grand affair, but it was nicer than most of either family had ever attended.

Our area says $35K...we can't really get that extravagant! It will be about $15-17K, when it's all said and done, I think.

ETA: But, I can absolutely see how a wedding in our area could cost that much easily. We're doing our best to cut corners and do things ourselves.

They are saying 30,000 for us and we don't even have the capablitlies of having all the things llisted on their break down.

we spent 3000 tops for everything including our honeymoon. We spent a tenth of what they say our average is.

We got married near Salem, OR. This is what they say about it:

On average, couples will spend $28,589.60 for their wedding in Salem, Oregon 97304. This does not include cost for a honeymoon, engagement ring, bridal consultant or wedding planner. Add that in and cost could reach $37,907.00. Below is a cost breakdown by wedding category. The items listed below the category are included in the cost. Click a link below the category to find a wedding vendor who specializes in that specific product or service. You should note that wedding cost can very widely and this is just an estimated average of what couples will likely spend based on our research at theweddingreport.com.

We sure didn't spend anywhere near that! And honestly, for us, I can't see any other kind of wedding then what we had! It was what we wanted, it's beyond me how someone could justify the down payment of a house (give or take) pay to for a wedding, but that is just me.

On average, couples will spend $21,167.30 for their wedding in Cheyenne, Wyoming 82001. This does not include cost for a honeymoon, engagement ring, bridal consultant or wedding planner. Add that in and cost could reach $28,066.00.

Ours is cheaper than other regions, but still pretty pricy. We are cutting corners here and there, I don't think it is going to be that high.

I swear, I very nearly went into a financial seizure when I saw some of the averages for your areas!

Here's mine; I'm SO not anywhere near that!

On average, couples will spend $20,892.40 for their wedding in Saint Augustine, Florida 32084. This does not include cost for a honeymoon, engagement ring, bridal consultant or wedding planner. Add that in and cost could reach $27,701.00. Below is a cost breakdown by wedding category. The items listed below the category are included in the cost. You can see in some cases where it would cost that much if you didn't cut corners. I think the biggest cost cutting is the food. It would have easily been 7000 just for a catered sit down steak type meal.

So what corners is/did you cut?

Gee I got mine down to about $ 16,200.00 (including the honeymoon, rings and family medallions for family cerimony) and that was still shooting really high. Hopefully we can keep it that way or even lower it a little more

So far:

Dress: $200
Shoes:$48
Reception site: $350/4 hrs
ceremony site: $175
Total: $775 so far.

I'm SO not counting the honeymoon or the e-ring!

Wow-that is an interesting site! I mean, you always hear about nationwide averages, but it was helpful to see one specifically for our area..

Hate to say it, but I think we're right on target. Sigh.

Average in my area was 32K. We spent about 6k including our honeymoon.

The biggest money saver for us was serving a full sit-down lunch instead of dinner. And, having our reception in a hotel ballroom rather than a wedding venue's ballroom. Just by doing that, we saved $35 per plate. That's $2275 saved.

We also had our outside wedding during hurricane season (gasp) and saved about $1000 dollars on the rental price including music, officiant, rehearsal decorations, and day of planner/organizer.

A spammer had posted and Cirig is referring to him. I deleted his post. He was advertising jewelry or something like that.
