Curious as to what everyone will be doing for their first anniversary. Bob and I plan to spend a 4 day weekend in Seattle. We had thought of going back to Orcas Island, but for only a few days, well we decided on Seattle instead, and maybe Orcas again next year. Our honeymoon was a week on Orcas Island. Just wondering what other are palning or did do!
Blessings!
Love,

We spent our first anniversary in a hospital emergency room. We were PLANNING to go out to dinner and to a movie, but right before we were getting ready to leave the house (to drop off the kids at my dad's house), our middle child dropped a cement block on his finger and split his finger open.
At least we'll never forget that anniversary!

We haven't made plans yet. But, since our first goal as a married couple is to save up for a house, we will most likely not do anything more than a nice dinner with the top layer of the wedding cake as desert. Maybe we'll go out to eat at the restaraunt where he took me before he proposed.

We went to Paris for 2 weeks. Before we left we made a nice dinner together and ate the top layer of our cake (which surprisingly tasted very good!).

Feb, poor Remington! Was he ok?
Dave says we should celebrate our "pre-anniversary" this year, as we're getting married October 7, 2006. I think that's cute.

MTGH, that is sweet. Will you be doing a dinner thing, or going on a short trip, or something else?

We talked about going back to the cabin that we spent our honeymoon in but now I don't know. I will hopefully be pregnant by then and not want to do anything.

Just dinner, I'm sure. We're on a TIGHT budget with the wedding this year and a closing in a few weeks to add an extra $115,000 for a house addition onto our existing mortgage. Yeesh--it's really a WHOLE lot of money we're spending this year when I think about it! The house, the wedding trip, the wedding party, $15,000 we just gave my ex from what I owed him from buying the house from him... Uh, maybe we WON'T be able to afford a dinner even!

Yeah, he was okay.
He ended up needing two stitches that night. But what a night - we waited for HOURS, and then when we finally got in an exam room, the hospital's fire alarm went off and they closed our exam door. Apparently, the closed door made the doctors forget about us, because it was another HOUR before they came back. By this time, the anesthetic had worn off and Remington felt everything they did to him.
To make matters worse, the doctor who did the stitches did a sh*tty job, and when I took him back to get them removed, they had a very hard time getting the stitches out because - warning, this is gross IMO - a scab had formed partially UNDER the stitches.
Now, see why I know I'll never forget my first anniversary???

Feb, you 1st anniversary sounds like my birthday. Bob wanted everything for all of our first special days together to be fun and romantic, well the plans he had for my birthday were that, but God had other plans. Our sewer backed up, so guess what we spent a cold Jan day doing? Snaking out our drain becuase it was a holiday weekend and no one could make it! I thought it was funny! Bob at first was upset, but now we both laugh about it!
Blessings!

We have decided (at least for now) that we will be eating at The Cellar in Seattle. It sounds so cool!
