I just need a little bit of direction. I can NOT think of anything to use for favors at my reception. Well, we will be giving out little silver bells to those who are still there right before we leave so they can ring them as we go, but I don't know what to use as the favor we will be giving out at the door. The wedding is on FEB 1 2003, and my colors are red and white. The flowers are mostly roses and rose petals with a few lillies. I would appreciate any suggestions or ideas that would kinda go along with the rest of the reception. I'm basically just desperate as I am not very creative.

Well, about anything is open. You can get rose shaped votive candles in your colors wrapped in tulle with ribbon in your colors; or use a clear heart shaped box to fill with red and white jordan almonds; or fill it with red and silver hershey's kisses; simple silver heart shaped picture frames;... feel free to join in here guys...

Hi,

Well, I really like wynelle's idea of the rose shaped candles. Candles are always nice! Some other ideas: chocolate truffles in a red & white box; flower seeds; potpourri; personalized magnets; red and white rose-shaped soaps; bookmarks.... the list truly goes on. It really depends on if you want the favors to be edible, personalized, something they will keep, something they will use --

How about a silk rose stem with a ribbon that has your names and wedding date? It's quick and simple. You have a lot of options. It's a matter of what you would like to spend your time and effort on. And of course what your budget is like.

I just had a thought. My cousin did this for her wedding in July 2001, and it would be great for a February wedding.

She made roses out of Hershey's kisses. What she did was glued the bottoms of two kisses together (with the foil still on them). Then, she used floral wire and floral tape to make the "stem" for the rose. She covered the kisses with tulle (but you could also use organza or another sheer fabric). She tied it all together with personalized ribbon.

Hello
I am giving a reception for my son and his wife in January (they were married in October)
Colors are red and ivory.
For wedding favors, I picked up some little folding cardboard boxes that close up and have little handles. We are putting silver and red foil-wrapped kisses into the boxes. (if you want to do this, you'll have time to find the red foil wrapped kisses because they sell them for valentine's day, too)
Tied up with a 10" strip of ivory tulle, they look sweet ~~ no pun intended. And they didn't cost much!

For our wedding we are burning our own cd's with 16 songs used during the ceremony and reception. i.e. walking down the aisle, our first dance as husband and wife, father/daughter song, etc... It's costing us approx 1.50$ per CD, and we are giving 1 per couple and so on.
