Review of Photography Service
Star Photo and Video in Yonkers, New York
At first Danny, from Star Photo & Video was nice and the price was fair. Danny was misleading in a lot of his claims. Whenever we confronted him with an issue, he always said that was not what he meant or that we misunderstood. When we showed him proof on paper, he would not even apologize for his mistake. Danny did not take any responsibility for any of the many mistakes that were made.
On the day of the wedding, he did not give himself enough time to photograph myself or my husband individually. Before the wedding I asked him about the time issue and he said there was plenty, not to worry. I trusted him because he was the professional. The individual photos of us were few and mainly just headshots. When I asked afterwards why I did not have a full-length picture with my gown, his reply was “not all brides want that picture and I did not request it.” During the rest of the wedding day, Danny did not show any initiative to set up the pictures. I had to request and ask for certain pictures to be taken. A couple of requests were made several times to take pictures with specific family members, they were not taken. At the church, he took plenty of pictures, unfortunately it was mostly of our backs facing the alter. Since it rained on & off all day, our pictures were all taken inside of the hall. Danny did not take advantage of the entire hall, and took all of our pictures in only one spot. He was barley around during the reception and sometimes we could not even find him. The candid pictures were also not his strong point.
Star Photo & Video’s services after the wedding were even worse. Danny was always out of town, and very difficult to get a hold of. After we received the proofs and made our selections, the service he used to print our pictures were extremely slow. Months passed by and we heard all types of excuses. Errors were made in some of the pictures, so they had to be resent. The parents pictures were miscounted, he gave us 20 instead of 24. At first he tried to tell us it was 20 until we showed him the contract. Also, he forgot to order the thank you pictures until we mentioned it. Once we received them, they were also miscounted and he did not order the envelopes. When we asked him why we did not receive any envelopes, his response was “sometimes people do not want the envelopes.” So we had to wait an additional two weeks for them.
We had to wait a total of 11 months to receive everything from the package. Danny was unprofessional, rude and difficult to talk to. There were problems with everything from the photo albums to the special effects. Please do not use Star Photo and Video, it was a horrible experience for my husband and I.

Wow, that's awful! It makes me scared that maybe I don't know my photographer well enough!

Welcome to Pash!
I wasn't happy with a lot of my photos either.
Definitely report him to the Better Business Bureau lizasilly, and I'm so sorry you had this experience.

The Photographer actually call me
and said I was a liar and that is he going to sue me. I told him it was all true and that he can't do anything about it.

That is a lousy experience. I would contact the Better Business Bureau and file a complaint.
What's he going to sue for? Disliking his service? Sorry, buddy. :
On a happier note, weclome to Pash! :wave We'd love to hear some of the good stuff from your wedding as well as more about you!
