Is anyone else putting a little "thank you" tag on the favors? I'm not into the little poem type things, but I'm considering a little tag that says "thanks for attending" for the favor bag/box. What is (or did) everyone else doing?

I've seen people put a little tag saying With Love, Bride's Name & Groom's Name and the Date

We don't have favors we can easily put tags on (they are plastic pint containers from our favorite ice cream store--played a part in the proposal!) so I'm not planning to do any tags. We are giving little wooden sled ornaments, and I'm thinking of tying on ribbon or something with our names and the date. But no thank you tags.

labeadel - we will be tying little tags on the favors. I am still working on exactly what they are going to look like though! My co-worker/friend/counterpart in our Long Beach office is a Stampin-Up demonstrator and is super crafty, so she is going to make me some samples. Probably a skeleton leaf stamped in antique gold or copper ink over an ecru/ivory card with our names and wedding date on it. If I can't feed them thru the printer, my little sister will hand write them for me. I actually like the idea of them being hand written better, but the heat has been gettting bad here and her fibro has been flaring up, so we will have to see about that!

I wrote our names and date in gold pen on sand dollars. For the adult favors, the sand dollars were embedded in. With children's favors, we tied them in with twine.

Our favors were little handmade bags (made out of felt & ribbon) stuffed with homemade rosemary cookies and a little note that exlpained why we used the rosemary the way we did (it's something that was used in wedding back in the day and is supposed to signify a long marriage or something like that I don't remember). at the end of the note was a line that said "thank you for sharing in our special day with us! Love, our names"

I did a little research last night and came across these that I like.

I could pretty easily make these myself! I might go to Michaels at lunch today and look at some paper and some of those fancy scissors. I can feed it through the printer, formatting it like for labels, and then cut them out with those cool scissors. Another thing about using those scissors is that people wouldn't be able to tell if I didn't cut exactly straight!

I was thinking just saying something like...

"Thank you for sharing our day with us"
Our names
10/15/2005

Holy cow, you could totally make those--Who would buy them from that site--they're SOOOOO expensive!

Your idea sounds good. what are you giving as favors?

Well, I went at lunch and bought my supplies. I think all in all it only cost me about $8.00. Cool!!

CupieJen - We are putting some Lindor chocolates into a little bag (cream in color) with a black bow. I think they're really cute. I just took a pic on Sunday, I'll have to upload it and post it.

We aren't having thank you tags on the favours.
But we are kind of having thankyous on the tables..
I wrote a little poem to thank people for coming & to encourage them to use the disposeable cameras.
(printed it out on card & made it into little triangular stands which'll sit on the tables)

It goes like this...

Thank you for joining us today,
We hope you’ll all have fun,
And help us capture all the laughs
No tears please, anyone!

We need the help of all our guests,
The party’s just begun,
Please celebrate with us because
We love you, everyone!

Now all we ask is that you’ll help
Us save this joyous day,
We’d like to see on camera,
You dance the night away!

(Just leave it here before you go,
And thanks aain, from Ann and Mo!)

(its a little cheesey but it gets the point accross)

Well, I took some pics of the favor bags with and without the tags. The two creams don't exactly match, but I think they compliment each other okay.

Sorry, the pics are a little blurry. I think I took them too up close. You get the idea...

Also, when I make all the favors, I will make the black ribbon a little longer.

Those came out really nice! Simple, clean, not overdone. Very classy! The tags look exactly like the ones from that website too. Take that, overpriced tag making people!!!

very cute. i like them!
I agree that the ribbon should be a bit longer. also, have you made all the tags yet? it's probably just me and won't bother 'normal' people, but because i'm a graphic designer, i think you could leave a bit more space between the type and the edge of the tag; it just looks kinda crowded. Oh, and you should put your name first, not his, because you're the girl & your name is always supposed to come first

Yeah, some of the tags have more room, I just wanted to make them as small as possible since the bags aren't that big. I did have his name first in the beginning, but then I thought that maybe I'd switch it around, since my name is first on EVERYTHING else!!

So whats inside the little bags?

Inside the bag will be 3 Lindor truffles, all different kinds. We'll be doing Milk Choc, Dark Choc, White Choc, Hazelnut & Peanut Butter. Yummy, now I'm craving chocolate.
