Mexican Flowers...
My MoH is a native of Mexico and will be offically an US citizen next month - here's my thing. I want to honor her heritage by having her carry a mexican style bouquet in my wedding. Ideas?
ETA: I also want this to be "traditional" but whatever ideas you have, would be great!

ashley, when i was planning my wedding, i wanted to incorporate some mexican-themed things, and flowers were one area i struggled w/... there is a gorgeous yellow orchid that only grows in mexico, but it is kind of on the small side, and i can't remember what flower colors you'd decided to go w/. something you may also want to consider, but may nix for the same reasons i did, is the poinsettia is native to southeast us and mexico.. it's not just a seasonal christmas time flower, but since you ARE getting married in december, you can incorporate a white, pink, or red poinsettia in her bouquet. i'm sorry i don't have better suggestions.... good luck figuring it out!

hmmm. poinsetta's a mexican flower? Interesting. My colors, btw, are chocolate and cream. If that yellow orchid's pale enough, I might incorporate it.

Unfortunately, poinsettias can't be used as cut flowers. They excrete a white milky fluid and they wilt rapidly, but you could use a cream colored silk poinsettia in her bouquet. In Mexico, poinsettias grow wild and grow very tall. They are an outdoor plant.

Thanks girls! I've sent the links to my MoH! I think I may do a bouquet of flowers that are native to Mexico... or just one stem or two!
