I don't know the area at all.
Are you more into hiking and being more active or relaxing on the beach?
The spa would be great for relaxing too, alot of activieties and the private boat sounds so romantic.
The beach is always a favorite of mine, but might be more crowded.
I just love water and have to be close to it!!!

I also voted for Heidel House. It seems there are more activities available there.

The golf course on the Grand Geneve Resort scared me off... Just not into golf And the water looked so pretty at the other one... But the accomodation at the GGR looked nicer Am I recalling rightly that you have kids? If so are they going with you?
If you do/they are I'd go for the HH coz it has the big pool & a kids club...
But it'll be a tough call!

Yeah, I looked at the actual rooms too, and the rooms looked nicer at the GGR too.

I voted Grand Geneva too because I thought the accommodation seemed nicer and more romantic - and lets not forget that you wont be planning to leave your room much on honeymoon!!!
Unless you are taking Kids!?!?!

Grand Geneva has nicer and more romantic rooms, but the other has more activities... Tough choice, but I would go for more activities, Heidel House... But I love the water, and there is a yacht!!!!

I've been to both and I have to say that it really depends on what you are looking for on your honeymoon. Green Lake is gorgeous. I was in a relationship with someone for 3 years who had a home on Green Lake and he worked at the Heidel House one summer-- and it seems that they really care about their guests and are very accomodating. As for Grand Geneva-- its beautiful too but it might not be as quiet and relaxing as Heidel House and to me, the Green Lake area is much more 'scenic'. I'm from Northern IL originially so anyone out there reading this PLEASE don't take it the wrong way-- but Grand Geneva tends to cater more to the "Illinois" crowd. We looked there as a possible place to hold the wedding and I just got a very ''illinois tourist" type vibe from it. For example, I know that last year after my cousins prom, he and a bunch of friends drove up and stayed the weekend there with their dates.
Have you looked at the Abbey Resort in Fontana? Thats another beautiful location and while its close to lake geneva, its still a little off the beaten path.
Tough Choices!
