As of now, the wedding still stands at 9-15-07! We're visiting the reception hall for the first time tomorrow, so we may find out our date is already taken (that'd be a H-U-G-E bummer).
I'm taking the Fall theme and hopefully running with it. I've thought of lots of fun fall-related ideas, and I always love to hear more!

I wouldn't have thought to take a camera if you hadn't said something! We're definitely going to take one now so I'll let you know/see how it goes!! Hopefully they have no problems with us taking pictures!

Well, it's not looking too good for THAT hall -- I didn't even take pictures!!! There are two rooms, with one being larger than the other. They are separated by a folding (and who KNOWS how soundproof) wall. The larger room has the nicer dance floor and a large floor to ceiling glass window. It also has a minimum of 175 people and right now my minimum is 150. It takes 300 people to book the ENTIRE hall (and let's face it, I'm just NOT that popular).
They didn't have the AC on today because the rooms weren't in use. That made the tour pretty miserable and turned me off right away. *sigh* I can only imagine squeezing 150 people into the small side of that hall. The webpage is:

There are a few pictures under the "facility" tab, but not many. You can see the large glass window that is in the larger side on the main page. Perhaps it would look nicer all lit up and with the AC working... but to me it looked very dull and dreary. I guess I'll keep looking!!

The search does continue. I called a reception hall today that hardly includes what yesterday's did, hardly looks as nice as the other one did and it's $7 more pp!!! She's still sending me the info, but I've already ruled them out pretty much!! I'd like to know again why I waited to plan this wedding!

Don't worry, you still have enough time. I know you're really hoping for September, but if you push it off another month or two you'll probably have more options. Same goes for if you try a Friday evening. I'm sure you'll find the perfect place!

The hardest part of my search was finding a place for the ceremony/reception (we didn't do a church) and it was really frustrating for me! Just keep at it, and eventually one will come along that you'll like. I promise. You may have to sacrifice something you really wanted, but it all works out in the end. I really wanted an outdoor wedding, but none of the places around here that would allow a small wedding like mine (under 75 ppl) were anywhere within our budget! So, we ended up going indoors at a hotel, and it was awesome. So, just keep your options open. That's my best advice for now.

Hello Everyone! My name is Amanda, my fiance and I have only been engaged for two weeks! We have set our date as September 22, 2007! We are from Greenville, SC. Is it crazy we have already chosen the place for the ceremony and reception?! Here is a link to the site (click on the "larger weddings" link on the left to see our place. What do you all think?

Hi Amanda
Welcome to Pash. You might get more of a response for your question if you made a new thread. You could post one in the Bridal Journals telling us about the proposal and more about your upcoming wedding.
