applause Photo Album

Hi everyone

Our photographer just sent me a wee email to say our album is now online for approval. It isn't perfect (there are a few layout's I'm not 100% sure about, and he's used a couple of the wrong version of prints) but you can have a look just now

Anything you don't like, or layouts your not sure about?

I'm not too keep on the ones at an angle. I'm fine with the photo within the frame being angled, but not the frame itself... Does that make sense?

This is a wee example. The photo I chose of my mum & S.Dad was taken on an angle:

But instead of putting it in like it is above he's tilted the photo so it is at an angle & it looks like they are standing straight...

No, we just couldn't afford it It was going to be almost another $400 each for them & we just don't have $800 left

Ohhhhhhhh, it's so beautiful! I love the last page with the "and they lived happily ever after..." bit. It really does look like a fairy tale.

I agree with this. There were two pages I thought looked a little off....the page with all white background with lots and lots of family groupings/pictures, and the page immediately following with the all black background that had more family pictures. The photos tilted seemed a little off to me.

Although I do like the page that has just 3 pictures of you and Mo...one centered in the middle and 2 on either side, tilted. I don't think that looks off at all.

The photo album is lovely! A few pictures looked a bit "out of sorts" but I think they were the ones you mentioned. But even so, they still look lovely. What a great remembrance!

LOVELY!

I have to agree about the pics on an angle. I'd like them more being straight.

Beautiful!!! I love them all. I even like the ones he turned. In fact, I'll bet he took a few pics like that just for that reason.

Oh Ann-it's just gorgeous! I agree with some of the little things you've mentioned already, but overall, the entire album is breathtaking! What a wonderful book!

It looks awesome, Ann

My page by page opinions (hey, you asked!! )
1. Beautiful intro
2. Not too crazy about the combo of color and black and white, but I think it would work better with at least one color picture with the B&Ws on right side.
3. Same -- needs at least one more B&W to even out
4. Beautiful
5. I love the different wedding shots and the mixture of sizes
6. I love the contrast of B&W here and the pictures chosen
7. It seems a little light, but, again, I love the mixture of the pictures
8. One of my favorites!!! The placement of pictures and background is perfect.
9. Another favorite
10. My favorite
11. Awesome pictures, but I don't like the color on one side, B&W on the other with color in the middle. I think it would look better with both big being color and the middle B&W or opposite.
12. I love it all, but the B&W picture of the girls is out of place.
13. awesome
14. Another favorite
15. Absoluteley perfect!!! A beautiful end to the album.

As you took the time to review it all for me I might as well let you know what I was thinking! I'll refer to the left page as A the right as B

1b Looks lovely, but isn't actually the photo I chose! The one I picked had my engagement ring shown inside one of the peonies!

2a Was hoping that the shot of just me would be more dominant as it's probably my favourite of myself. Think the background colour should be a mose subltle green, closer to the girl's dress colour. Would prefer the close-up of my champagne to be the background image rather then the shot of just me...

2b Think the green bar is in the wrong position, if the photos have to be laid out like that then the green strip should be thinner & between the large image & the 3 small ones.

But as much as I love the girls, I think their photo dominates those 2 pages too much

3a&b It just feels a little unbalanced with the b&w of Mo on the end. Plus that is my fav. shot of him & again it has been used as the background rather than the main focus

4a I love the photo of the 4 girls, but when it is so small it doesn't look right. It is an image that was altered in photo shop... It looks great in the proofs, not so great there
4b It seems odd to have just one single b&w photo here, plus the two verticle ones seem odd when used to balance the 2 horizontal images on A The other issue is that I love the b&w photo used here, and it just seems a bit over-looked here
4a&b I'm not personally comfortable with this photo. I think my head looks like a big ball My mum loves this photo, and I've had lots of nice comments which is why I've left it in, but I'm not 100% sure about it...
I'm hoping it might be a grower, that by time I'm 50 I'll be glad to have a close up pre-wrinkles!

ETA: I think the 2 photos on each side would work better if they were placed with the left side ones at the very top, and the right side ones at the very bottom corner...

EDIT (again): I'm looking at again & if I had the top & bottom corenr placed, I could swap that big one of me for the tiny one of the 4 that I love. That could work better!
