Default Finding Bridesmaids dresses

I am having a hard time finding dresses for my bridesmaids. They are all really tiny (around 100 lbs). They are also all still in school so they cannot afford much. I wanted something very simple and tea length. I was hoping to find the dresses each for around 75 dollars does anyone know of anywhere I could find cheap bridesmaids dresses. I liked these ones but the smallest they have is a size 2 and I need at least a 0

Chances are, you are not going to find a 0 in a formal dress. You'd most likely have to buy the 2 and have it altered down. The dress company my BM dresses came from only went down to a 4.
Really, I'd highly suggest finding a seamstress to make the dresses. You would easily be able to do it for $75/dress that way. You can always find fabric on sale at JoAnn's or Hobby Lobby too. HTH!

ETA: I love that dress, it's adorable. That's also a very simple design, and I know for a fact I've seen that pattern at Wal-Mart. If you were near me I'd do it for you!

Maybe do a search for prom dresses. They are made to fit skinny teeny boppers Otherwise, have them get measured. They may do ok in a 2 or they may only need minor alterations. Try searching non wedding sites. Like Nordstroms, Macy's ect I am sure there are more I just can't think of any right now.

BTW I love that dress you picked out!!

Try alfredsung.com very cute dresses, not sure of the sizing.

Keep in mind that bridal attire is usually smaller than normal clothing so the 2 might just be the right size for a bridesmaid dress.

That's a good point-bridesmaid dresses tend to run one or two sizes big, so a 2 might actually fit. Also, keep in mind that pretty much any bridesmaid dress has to be altered somewhat, and if it's a simple design, they may be able to cut it down where it needs to be pretty easily. I know that when I was a BM last year, the dress size was a 12-I wore an 8 typically, so you can see that there was a big difference. Now I'm down to a 6, but my wedding dress is a 10-go figure! Have one of your maids try on the dress and see how it fits! Good luck!

Ditto to what AshyBekka said...I wear a 12 and my wedding dress is a 16. I don't know why they do that to women, make them feel like they've gained everytime they have a formal affair...anyway, the 2 may just fit!

I'm normally a 4 and my dress was a 6.. but the 8 kinda fit too! So you never know! I second the seamstress idea. I got my dresses made and the seamstress charged $40 a dress and my mom spent $80 on fabric and notions. I had 4 BMs so it ended up being $60 a dress total! I would definately look into it!

I'm a dress size 2 or 4, depending on design so for the wedding I'm in in September I ordered a 6. Have one of them go to a dress shop with you to just try a few things on. The biggest problem with that though (for smaller women), is that most shops have mostly 10s or 12s to try on so alterations are almost guaranteed.

See here is the problem I was sayign 0 knowing that bridesmaids dresses run small. My MOH is 5'6 and weights like between 90-100 lbs. I will try to find a seamstress. How would I go about doing that? I live in a pretty small town but I live quite close to a bigger town. Where did other people find their seamstresses

I found a couple cards at the fabric store. Maybe you could look and see if your local fabric store has a board or anything in the front with cards or phone numbers.

Or just ask around. You'd be surprised who might already have a seamstress that they like.

Sometimes the ladies that work at places like Hancock fabrics do seamstress work on the side. I've known my seamstress forever. She used to alter my dance costumes when I was a kid. I think just asking around would turn up some options.

I know Joann's fabric around here keeps a list of people who does weddings and prom dresses. My mother gets at least 2 calls a week from people that have got the list from there. Stop by and see if they have a list also you could call the local dry cleaners. To bad you don't live close!
