Question It's invitation time

I am trying to decide on the invitations for an October wedding. I'm going with an autumn theme with the fall colors. I found a traditional invitation that I like okay from a mail order invitation company. I also found a letter size specialty computer paper that has the style/design I was wanting to use. I'm trying to cut costs and the specialty paper would be much cheaper. Do you think using a non traditional form of paper for the invitaion is a bad idea?

Thanks for your input.

We used non traditional papers (computer paper) with less than traditional invites (message in a bottle)
I'm all for using your own creativity and cutting cost!!!

The way I see it is you are the one getting married and you should have what you want. SO I say go for it!

Definitely go for it, but test a few invitations out first to make sure it's going to "set" on the paper and not smear or run. As long as it prints and looks the way you want it to, you can use whatever you like.

My theory is it is your wedding, you have an idea of what you want for your invites. Go for it. If they don't work then you can go another route. But remember it is your wedding and you can have it your and FH's way.
