Default Felt like a wife recently!

Yes, we've been married over two years, but it's rare that I actually FEEL like a wife. Make sense?

One of our cats loves to pee in open gym bags and open suitcases (empty or full of clothes.) He's always done it so we "know better" than to leave that stuff on the floor.

Mike had to leave for OH yesterday and he normally uses my suitcase b/c he can carry it on instead of checking it. Well, I'm leaving Thursday before he gets back so I had taken my suitcase and cleaned it up, started packing little things. (It was pee free, lol.) Mike has a larger suitcase that I bought him for Xmas one year. (Also pee free.) Because he was adamant about not checking a bag, he decided to use his gym bag to pack his clothes. Unfortunately the gym bag was/is not pee free. Mike didn't realize this when he was stuffing all of his clothes into it yesterday morning before he went to the office. (He planned to come home for lunch to pick it up and have a quickie. )

So before he came home yesterday I emptied his bag b/c the scent was fairly strong. I refolded all of his clothes, matched up his black socks (he didn't have ONE matching pair) and put his dress shoes into a plastic bag. I also wrote a short love note and put it in between his clothes so he would see it when he unpacked at the hotel. I felt like such a wife! I know this is weird but I was totally into doing that for him and he IM'd me today and told me how happy it made him and that he loved how I packed his suitcase, etc. Made me feel really good, and I know that I'll be packing his suitcase from now on.

Oh, that is really cute. I love getting those "wife" feelings. Mine usually comes after making a really nice meal for us. That's about all the "wife" things I can handle.

LOL, me too Amy. One thing every couple of years is okay with me.

I'm glad he appreciated it too. He thought it was cute that I felt like a wife.

That's so sweet. I love when I get that feeling. For me, it's usually when I clean the house or do his laundry.

I feel like a wife today!! Most of you know that Josh is living back home while I finish up school. Well today he called and let me know that he and his dad are coming up tonight so I cleaned the kitchen and put fresh sheets on the bed and febreezed a bit so it smells nice a fresh!! I really felt "wifely" getting ready for him!

Aw sweetheart!

I had no idea that you too were apart I don't know how I missed that...

It must be awful being seperated for so long But at least you'll be together soon!

Yeah, Josh is living back home job hunting while I am living up here trying to finish school. We've been apart off and on since March. We just see each other when we can, but mostly we're apart. It really sucks, but we do appreciate our time together more.

LOL, sometimes I feel kind of wifely, too, even though I'm not a wife yet. I had a couple of major wifely moments this week.

One was when I ironed his uniforms and put the creases in them...another when I ran his first paycheck to the bank ...and another because I tidyed up and even bought those blue drop in things for my toilet and some air fresheners for my little place so it'd smell extra nice for him when he walked in after work.

He noticed, too, and was so sweet and complimentary -- I'm not much of a housekeeper, really, so he was awfully proud of my extra touches. I can't wait to actually BE his wife and be fixing up OUR little home.

ETA: I also had a not so nice wifely moment when he started telling me the details of his new life insurance and that he's put me as his beneficiary along with his mom should something happen during these next three weeks, and after they're up and he's repayed her the money she loaned him, it'll just be me......I know it's only smart and responsible to discuss all that stuff, and I'm glad we did, but I hate it anyway.

Me too, Bryanne! I plan to put FH on my benefictary, but it's still so far from our wedding so I'll wait til about 2 or 3 mos. before the wedding to do that.

And doesn't it feel so nice to do these "extra touches" for him?

Haha...my major wife-y moment came last weekend when a few of his friends from work came over and we barbequed. As soon as one of the guys walked in he discreetly asked FH if I had made any more cookies yet. Apparently he's been taking all my cookies to work and sharing them (I thought they were disappearing quickly) and everyone was getting a little impatient because I hadn't baked in a couple weeks!

Unhappy

Today I’m feeling like a wife. I’m so worry about Khalid…. He is going on a trip to South Carolina and the weather is horrible with tropical storm Ernesto. I asked him not to go today and wait until tomorrow, but he said no …. I’m just worry because is going to be raining a lot, with wind and I don’t think is a good idea to be on the road. Then I will have to wait until he makes it to SC because I don’t want to call him on his cell phone while his driving under the rain to hear that he made it there safe….

something sweet to do is to buy Khalid an earpiece. I did this when my DH started driving more. Neither one of us likes to talk, hold a phone and drive. I live with my earpiece in my ear and don't answer my phone in the car without it!!!

With one you can talk to your honey and know he's as safe as if you were in the car blabbering away at him... since he won't have to hold the phone.

That's a good idea... too bad I can't go out of my work to buy one before he leaves.... I'm going to ask him to stop at the store, he might do that for me....
