Bra Question...
Ok ladies, I'm sure someone here can help me out!
I purchased a Goddess corset style bra to wear under my dress - it's a long line with the detachable garters. It fit great when I was standing up, so I bought it, not thinking I should have sat down in it when I was in the store.
A week later, I wore it to try on my wedding dress. Now, my mother wasn't able to put it on me because she has problems with her hands, so I had to put it on myself (ever tried to do that? NOT FUN!). I had to put it on backwards, basically and then twist it around so it was on the right way.
Anyway, when I got in the car to drive over to the store, I was SCREAMING in pain because it felt like the boning under my boob was going to stab me!
Is there anything that can be done about it? I took it back to the store but they didn't have any suggestions. Does someone here have any ideas?

Oh boy, I have no idea. Could you have a seamstress add more padding or material on the inside of the boning? I don't own a corsette but was actually thinking of getting one just today. You're scaring me now, lol.
Wish I had more ideas for you. Good luck & let us know what you do because I'm sure it won't be the last time this comes up with all of our summer brides popping up!

I was thinking about having someone add the padding. My grandmother is coming over tomorrow with some things that she used to use when she had that problem. I'm hoping something she has in her bag of tricks will work.
I've used corset style bras before, and overall I like them. They serve their purpose. It just never dawned on me to sit in it for a little while and check that. I guess mainly because I'm used to having the boning on the sides, and on this bra, the boning runs under both boobs.
ETA: I'll be sure and keep you guys updated on the fix.

Will there be anyone there on the day who will be able to lace you into it properly? Chances are that with the way you had to put it on it wouldn't have been lined up quite as it should have been, and it can be easy for the boning to dig into you that way
Can you try again when your Gran comes & see if it feels any different? If it doesn't then maybe you'll have to wear the top section a little looser than you did, that might alleviate the problem.
If it doesn't help then I'd try for padding I'd just be concerned that it might alter the line of the garment...

Can u add a bra attachment to the top part so it won't fit so tight?

Hmm. Interesting suggestions.
Yes, someone else will be able to strap me in on the big day. The day of my fitting my mother and I were the only one's home, so we were kind of stuck.
I never thought about the fact that if I added padding to it, the line of the garment would be changed. I'll have to see what my grandmother had in mind for it.
I figure it will probably fit better when I'm fastened in properly - well, I'm hoping that will occur, anyway!

I have a Goddess bra as well. Depending on which style yours is, if it's like mine, the woman who fitted me at the bra store had some suggestions as I had a similar problem. 1. The boning is pliable, so I was able to bend it out to where it didn't poke my boob. 2. She hooked the top part on the loosest hook, then the bottom half (where I need sucked in more) she switched to hooking in the tightest hook. It really made a difference for me! 3. I did twist the bra around my body just a fraction of an inch to where the boning didn't poke at the very bottom center of my boob, just a teeny bit to the side where it goes up a little higher. HTH!
