Default Received invite AFTER the RSVP date

One of my former employees sent me an invitation to here wedding. I received it today 7/8. The RSVP date was 6/30...The wedding is next Saturday. My question is how do I handle this? Is it too late to RSVP and attend? It was postmarked 7/5 but I don't want to be rude and show up and they not be prepared for me and DF. With only a week before the wedding I'm pretty sure the food is already planned and accounted for. Would it be ok to RSVP for the wedding ceremony and step out of the recepition not add last minute costs for them? Please give me some help

Ah, it sounds like they had an enormous guest list, and have created their backup list in tiers. As regrets came in, they sent invitations to the next people on their list -- the people they wanted to come, but feared they wouldn't have enough room to invite if everyone said yes. OR, they had a delivery delay with their invitations' first send. OR they got great news that a larger room was available and could invite additional people they love. Whatever the case, you're invited and can certainly respond with a Yes if you'd like to go.

It's wonderful of you to consider their expenses with your idea to attend the ceremony only, and you certainly could do that, but I wouldn't worry about sending a Yes.
