Default I am looking at these dresses

I am going dress shopping next week, and I'm looking into these dresses, I haven't made my decision yet but let me know what you think, I know I have to try them on and all, but at least this way I can be more prepared.

1. (Corset)
(1. - I like the corset look of this one, but looking at the view from the back, I'm not sure I'm stick skinny enough)

2. (Red)
(2. - My main wedding color is dark red, so the 'ribbon' will be the red like the back view, I included the two in black to show alternate views, but again where you see black, it will be red)

i love them both for different reasons... but no matter what keep an open mind when you try them on, and possibly allow yourself to try on a 3rd, unforseen, option.... you never know what you fall in love w/ on you! if you had a veil, then any back pudginess would probably not be an issue w/ the corset top dress... and corsets sure have a way of sucking in the tummy! i think the snugger fit on the hips is what i'd be concerned about on MY body, but i think that dress is supremely elegant. i like the 2nd choice b/cs of the introduction of color and the overall flattering fit, you almost can't go wrong w/ it. my only "problem" w/ the dress is one of the things i like: color. if you aren't careful, you could potentially go overboard, but there are so many ways to wear this dress tastefully and in a fun way. but depending on factors such as your hair/skin color, the actual fit of the gowns, etc., you may be very surprised by what looks best on you and what you feel the most comfortable in! good luck shopping and let us know if you decide!!!

I love the first dress, but I wouldn't feel comfortable with something that tight against my hips....that is the area I'm most self-conscious about on my body. It is a gorgeous dress though!! I like both of them in fact, but I agree with misty- try on dresses that you don't like on the hangar, or styles that you weren't drawn to in pictures. You will be amazed at how well things fit and how much you like things you didn't expect to.

When I went dress shopping, I stopped trying on dresses with a lot of beading and embroidery. I kept saying that I wanted a little of each, but everything they brought me was too much. I finally tried on a dress with no embellishments at all, and I loved it.

Let us know how it goes!!

I like 2 but we are not the one wearing it. Try both one and maybe a few different ones. Take pictures!

These are a little embarrassing to post, since I REALLY HATE my body, but if it helps anyone visualize at all, this is my body build:

I'm sorry the picture quality is poor they were taken on my phone at night, so no natural lighting was present.

I like number 1 and I reckon that style of dress would suit your body shape perfectly!

P.S I cant believe that you think you need to lose weight!!!!!!!

*faints* You're so TINY! You don't need to lose weight! You look gorgeous!

I like both dresses a lot...and you've got the body for #1, so it has my vote.

I love the second dress. I think the touch of color makes it special.

I love the black version!

But to get back to what you'd wear...

I love how the trim crosses over on the bottom of your back with the red one, it's very stylish, but I think you'd need to be careful about where else you used the red because it could all get a bit much...

I vote for going to try them on though And you know we'd love some photos from that too!

(and BTW I know it probably won't make a difference to your opinion but there isn't a thing wrong with your figure.)

I actually like number 1 the best. Consider if you use the red, it might be hard to match reds across all aspects of the wedding. you dont want to be standing next to someone and be clashing!

Thanks that really means the world to me. I have one of those mothers that expects a "Strait A Brainy Barbie Doll" out of her daughter, so if I gain a few pounds she is on my case in no time flat, and so is the case now. So reguardless of everyone I know telling me I am not fat, her voice is always in my head telling me I am. I'm not trying to make excuses, just trying to not sound so vain. I REALLY do appreciate the compliments though.

P.S. I'm noyt trying to make my mom sound bad, I do love my mother, and she is a great lady(most of the time), she is just very set in her ways sometimes!!!

I think most of us here have issues with our mums (and it doesn't mean we don't love them) so don't worry about making her out badly...

#2 dress is really more of something that I would pick but #1 is really beautiful too. I agree that you should try on both of them plus a few that are unexpected. You never know what will be THE dress.

girl, you so do not need to worry about your figure! you are lovely. but i do understand how those little voices play like tape recorders in your head sometimes, especially when we're most stressed, etc... so that being said, don't worry! whatever dress you do find will be the one that turns that tape player off!!! and that will be worth the million bucks you will look like!!!

These pics are removed if I'm not mistaken. Is there a reason for posting about something you can't see?

So I'm not the only one! I thought something was wrong with my connection or something. Same thing with the thread with everyone's dresses - half the pictures came up with red X's, so I couldn't see what everyone was commenting about.

I believe Rachel removed all evidence of any kind of wedding or wedding related material.
