florida beach or boat
I'm trying to find the cheapest beach wedding in Florida that we could do before leaving on our cruise for next May. Any ideas?
New to the boards, forgive me if I posted in the wrong forum.

Thank you.
It will either be Miami or Tampa. We aren't deciding until we decide where to get married. Also, we are willing to travel up to three hours from the port.

Welcome to Pash, I don't really know FL either.
indiebride.com and theknot.com local forums might be a great place to get ideas. Just be sure to come back and share your plans with us!

Hi! Welcome to Pash! We have a lot of beautiful beaches (in the Tampa area) that were featured in the top 20 on the travel channel. Are you just going to get married (the two of you) or are you inviting guests? Are you looking for some kind of package?? The largest and most popular is Clearwater beach which is about 1 hour from Tampa. I know a group called Allen Weddings does beach wedding packages. Hold on and I'll get some more information for you.

Great suggestions, thanks so much. Great info. There are definitely a few great possibilities.
I wouldn't mind doing the wedding on the cruise, although that's pretty pricey too. My FH really wants it the day before on a beach or a boat. (his first marriage, my second) We decided we would rather spend more on the honeymoon than the wedding itself but it's looking like I can't do much better than $500 for a 15 minute ceremony with no frills unless we choose a different location altogether. (not south Florida which makes the cruise portion become tricky)
Unfortunately our finances are fairly tight and we don't want to blow our small savings on any of the wedding details. So we may have to choose: cruise or wedding that we invite people to. I don't see us agreeing on it....

I looked very deeply into doing a wedding cruise. The price really wasnt TOO bad but it was incredibly restrictive (one cruiseline i actually had to pay for everything before i could even be assigned to talk to one of their wedding planners that you're required to use for the wedding). Most will email you price lists and what each package includes or doesnt include... but make sure you read the fine print.... and also think that whoever goes on the cruise with you, you're stuck with until you get back. Something about honeymooning with my MIL ... yikes!

If you are going to have just the two of you...get your fl marriage license. then contact a notary and have them meet you at the beach and they can marry you. The most they can charge for doing the service is $20.

I don't know Florida at all... I was just trying to find Cru5h's thread on her wedding site (on a beach in Florida). I don't know if it's cheap, but it's very nice. If anyone can find it, can you post it please?
Oh - and welcome to Pash!

I've spent the day searching through as many of Cru5h's threads (there's almost 5000!) and I love her beach with the option for rain. What beach is it?????

This sounds like a fantastic option! I would never have known you could do that!

That would be a good idea to just have you two on the beach and then get on the cruise. It would be kind of romantic, and cheaper.
Then maybe when you get home you can throw a party when you get home if you want to celebrate with friends and family.
