I called the resturant...
If you remember my post/rant about my caterer and them causing chaos right before I walked down the aisle....
I called and spoke to a manager today. He was appalled that the delivery girl asked for a tip. He also said that it was odd that she wouldn't bring the food in (she said b/c of not having the expiration date on the card) and that Chris was told they had everything when he called to double check that morning. So he apologized, and is sending us a $50 gift card for the resturant.
Someone's going to get their ass chewed....hopefully a couple someone's so the same thing doesn't happen to another bride. But at least the matter's somewhat resolved. (And I should be glad that's the only thing that went wrong that day.)

I'm glad they will let her know that her behavior was unacceptable. I try not to complain, but sometimes it's truly necessary.

It's great that the manager was so willing to listen to you. And you'll be able to go for a nice meal now
I missed what the problem was though, the delivery girl wanted a tip as you were getting ready to be married???

I missed that the delivery girl asked for a tip, too! Did you give her one?!

Here's a recap-
After they left me alone in the room (at the ceremony) I noticed my phone had a voicemai on it. I thought someone was lost, and listened to it. It was the resturant saying that they didn't have the expiration date on the card and they needed it or they couldn't deliver the food. [Mind you, when I got the message the food should have been delivered and set out by then.] Anyhow, I hurry up and try and call and get put on hold while they find a manager. About that time, they come in to get me. I start crying, 'cause I'm panicking. Mom and dad take over since I'm upset, they get ahold of them and give them the number. We start the ceremony, and I don't know how late we were, but we were late.
Then when I arrive at the reception, the woman that I had there (a co-worker) to receive the food and light candles, etc. tells me that the girl left the food outside for 45 minutes and would not bring it in. By that time, another co-worker of mine was there and was tired of her BS. So she lied and said I called and just gave her a number. So they get the food in and the girl's like, "Did she say anything about a tip?" Naturally, my co-worker was ticked. I don't remember what she said she told her, but it was something to the effect of not leaving food outside in hot weather. Then I guess the girl tried to give her her business card so that I could call her later and give her a tip. My co-worker said something else, but again, I don't really remember since this was all told to me right after I got to the reception.
All that over a silly expiration date. I really don't know why she didn't just bring the food in and wait until someone got ahold of me. It was my wedding day....not like I had my phone attatched to me. They're lucky I even had it on at all. People.

Oh dear Lord. That is appalling
"Did she say anything about of tip?"
I'd have had a few choice words about her f^*%$*~ tip!
It's hard to comprehend how someone from a restaurant could be quite happy to leave food outside for so long.

Heh! If she'd asked me for a tip, I'd have said, "Yeah F*** off or I'll give ya a knuckle sandwich, and I'll make d*** sure yer fired, ya biatch!"
Nobody messes with my friends!
And leaving food outside for 45 minutes is just inviting all sorts of yucky stuff happenin' with the food. That was just plain stupid! And wtf was that about an expiry date????? How stupid!

LOL They needed an expiration date for the CC the food was being charged to, not for the food itself.

I'm up temporarily, and I just NOW got that...! At first I was thinking they wanted to charge for the FOOD's expiry...
Well now I get it...! That makes SLIGHTLY more sense but still a bit dumb. That little chickie's really anal! I hope her manager drilled a new hole for her.

Tell the truth, I was just off work when I read that first time around, posted, then went to sleep. Then woke up for some reason, and read the explanation... OOPS!
Makes for an interesting day though! LOL

I'm sure the owner or manager of the resturant care about you having good service, most of the time employees could care less about anything but their pay check at the end of the week. I' m glad you were nice about it, and I'm glad you didn't have to get nasty with the resturant to get an appology.

Yes, you are right, most employees could give a shit. However, that's why I called and talked to a manager, so he'd know what they did. And, unlike my now husband who was ready to rip heads off, I was nice, lol.
It's so ironic too....I'm crying in the room one minute before the ceremony....but then no more tears the rest of the day. Almost worked out better that way, huh? Almost....

Wow, I missed this originally somehow - I'm glad everything worked out and you had such a great day regardless of the little brat looking for a tip!
