Default aisle runners

I'm starting to put ceremony elements together and I ran into a problem with the aisle runner. I have one, that isn't the problem. I don't know what to do with it. Who rolls it out? Does the entire BP walk on it? Which end is the roll on.....do we step over it at the end of the aisle (behind the church doors) or is it at the end of the aisle at the front of the church, against the stairs? Is it only unrolled before the bride makes her entrance?

*walking away muttering* "so much to do, so much to do..."

The way I have always seen it done is the ushers roll it out right b-4 any one in the WP walks in. It starts from the front and is rolled back.

HM. Probably the proper way. The wedding I was in last year, the groom rolled it out from back to front I remember wondering if it was the "right" thing to do!

I always thought it was rolled front to back also. And, it isn't rolled out until after the guests are seated. So, only the bridal party walks in on it. As for taking it up, I think you wait until the chapel has emptied. The guests will walk out on it.

My church wouldn't let me use one, because of liability reasons. So, be sure to check with your church and make sure it's okay.

The Best Man unrolled mine for my first wedding right after he ssat my Mom. He did it as he was walking back OUT of the church to walk in with all the other guys.

My son and the other groomsman forgot to unroll it until the MOH (only attendant) was walking down the aisle. They jumped up, grabbed the handle and raced up the aisle, meet MOH who had to jump over it, then took it to the back of the church.

They all denied it later, but they forgot that I have the videotape!!

I also usually see it rolled back to front after all guests are seated. The last few wedding have been outdoors and haven't used runners.

Default idea

We wanted to include several children in our wedding so we had my two young nephews pull the runner up the isle. They were absolutely adorable and did such a great job!

That is funny. Sounds like something my FH would do.
