duh GRRRRRRRRRR

Okay so the dress maker has had my dress for three weeks now and she said that she would give me a call on my mobile when she had done some work on it.... anyway do you think three weeks is long enough???

I thought I would have heard something from her by now.... do you think I should just pop in and see her and see how the dress is going???? I dont want to piss her off by harrassing her but I want to know whats going on!!!!!

I would stop in or give her a call. 3 weeks may not be long enough to have it complete, but I'm sure she's at least started on it by now.

Hmmm yeah I think I will pop in on my way home! She said she was going to unpick it all first and then give me a call and we were going to go from there - I think three weeks is enough time for her to have done that!

Agree! Definitely stop by. If she has done nothing to the dress, I bet you a suprise visit will get her moving!

I don't think there's anything wrong with stopping by or calling just to check in.

Yeah, go check up on her! Like H said, if she hasn't done anything this should get her moving!

Quick question though: This isn't someone doing you a favour, is it? I was just thinking it may take quite a bit longer if they are just helping you out rather than being a paid dressmaker... But if she was hired properly by you then go check up on her!

even so, ann, while i agree w/ your point, it is also a factor that if is is a friend, then she should be aware of wedding-related stress, and worrying about one's gown should be way low on the list!!!
emily, i would also stop/call.... maybe she just forgot she'd said she'd call, or she was being evil and wanted to surprise you!!

Emily,

I would stop by (more than call). Just say something like you couldn't wait to see it again or something if you are afriad of hurting her feelings, this is the truth I am sure of too! ....

Ann its not a friend doing me a favour she is a paid dress maker!

I didn’t get a chance to pop in and see her on my way home yesterday as I was running late for my train - so I am going to go and see her now! I hope she has done something!!

Okay I went to see her and she hasnt done ANYTHING!!!

Oh well I suppose I just need to be patient - I asked her if I could have a time frame and she said she would have something done on it within two weeks, we are going on holiday in two weeks time so I will pop in and see her the day before we go on holiday and if she hasnt done anything to it by then she has two weeks while we are on holiday to do something to it. And if she still hasnt done anything by the time we get back from holiday then I will just take it back and get someone else to do it!!!

She did look a bit horrified with herself that she hadnt done anything to it, she is really busy so I think she will get onto it now!

I hate having to wait!

Sorry for the disappointment. But, like everyone siad, I think your surprise visit will get her moving. I hope you see some progress when you stop by in a couple of weeks.

I think you're right about checking before you go away, and after you come home again And I definately agree that if she hasn't touched it, or has barely done anything to it then you may be better off taking it to someone else.

It's all very well her saying that she's very busy, but she shouldn't take on more work than she can handle. You are relying on her to do the work within a decent time frame,it isn't fair of her to say she can do by then it if she can't.

Of course maybe she'll be a bit quieter over the next couple of months as the busy wedding season winds down, coz I imagine everyone else would want their dress finished before now so hopefully she'll just be left with yours to work on!

I hope you'll update us
