Default Question

In an invitation, would you rather recieve a map to the venues or written instructions of how to get there or both? I need to include some sort of directions but don't know if I should do one, the other or both. Help!!! What did some of you do?

Hmmmmmm. I didn't have invitations so I haven't had to deal with that.

How about Mapquest.com? Which isn't always the most accurate but is kind of handy! Each guest can plug in their starting address and the destination address and it plots out how to get there and a map.

We're doing map cards with written direction son the back.
We plotted the 3 hotels guest are staying at, the ceremony local and the reception.

We had to do 2 different cards as not everyone is invited to the ceremony, but everyone is invited to the reception.

I think I still have a good map making tutorial if you need it. Let me know, and I can look for it.

I think both would be best - some people do better with maps, some do better with written directions. This way, you can ensure everyone has the best chance of not getting lost!!!

We did both. Like Serenity said, different things work for different people. So, if you can do both that would be best.

my vote is for both. I actually do better using both. I need the visual and it's nice to have written instructions because maps arent' always specific enough.

Ok, so I sit down this weekend and address ALL the envelopes one night and then yesterday morning I had to fold all the invites (we have a tri-fold invite, if I had a camera I'd take pics, but I don't so I can't) then last night Justin and I sat down and I stuffed envelopes while he stamped and "watered" them. We got them all done and guess what I forgot? Yup-all the maps and directions to go inside....so that was a big "whoops!" But like Justin said, "They can Mapquest or Google it".....anyway, they have been sent!!!!!!!!! I'm guessing with the holiday people will start receiving them Thursday. Yoowza....the clock is ticking now girls~!!

We did both. I know I personally like being able to look at a map to see how much further before the next street but that is just me.

I would do both if possible.

We did written directions. Many of the people left the directions after we went through the trouble of including them and got lost . Anyway, if it is not too much trouble, both would be nice, but if I could only do one, I'd do the written ones cuz like someone already said, it is hard for some folks to read maps/directions may seem clearer.

I would do both, because you'll have some people who are better with maps than written instructions, and other people vice versa.
