Default Finding a dress

I found the perfect dress today...with a not so perfect price tag of $1980.
I am in love with a dress by Marisa in style 644.
Anyone have any hints at possibly finding it cheaper?

Can you post a link? That might give us a little bit of a clue as to what your looking for.

Do you know of a web site that has this dress posted so we can see what it looks like. Great news by the way!

That is the problem its by a designer and there are no pictures out there they don't want people copying it...Its also pretty complicated to describe.

Oh my! That is quite a price tag!

Well if the dress is the big item for you then you should go for it But if other things are more important (like the meal or the photography) then maybe you should keep looking in case you find something of a similar style...

if you have the picture saved on your harddrive, upload it into www.photobucket.com. after you upload a picture, it will have 3 links below it... paste the bottom one into a message on here and it should show up!

I have never purchased any thing from them but I have heard a lot of people have good things to say about them. It's a extra 10% off if you order by tomorrow.

I haven't even told my family about the engagement yet hahah I think tomorrow would be a little soon to order.
We're driving down this weekend to tell them in person. I also don't know if/what financial backing I may have. I may not even be able to afford their 1350 price. Also like I said i'm hesitant to order off the website...I'd be afraid it wasn't real, that i'd be handing over money i'd never see again, or they would go out of business. I have heard some horror stories about ordering online.

Here is the difference between those and what I was looking at...
It is not fully picked up all over. The front center is picked up and then around the hips it is picked up/pinched/pleated (I don't know the wright term) at the waist line and falls down straight like an a-line and then the back center goes back to the pick up style...so it doesn't create so much fullness or make me look so large around the hips.
If you look closely at the picture you will see the detail i'm talking about around the hips where it is pinned up.

I would look into a dressmaker/seamstress, and take a pic to them and see if they could duplicate it. That should save you quite a bundle....just a thought.

They won't let me take pictures at the place I tried it on. They only do webcasts for the people you want to show who can't be there.

It sounds like it might be time to put all that tv watching to good use (ie Alias). Go in like you're a spy, and when nobody is watching, take pics. They have to leave you at some point, don't they?

Yes-that's what I did! When one of my maids and I went to a bridal shop in Nashville to look at a BM dress, they wouldn't allow cameras in the store. I smiled and was very understanding, then went to "help" my BM with the dress in the dressing room, and no one was the wiser!

Honestly, that kind of policy blows my mind. I can assure you all that the picture of my BM in a dress four sizes too big was NOT the type of thing that I would post anywhere as a representative of the designer's style. What's been lovely is that my bridal shop here where I purchased my wedding dress (and ultimately the BM dresses) has allowed me to snap away to my heart's content throughout-and my entire bridal party is in Vera!

I stumbled across this today on ebay and thought of you. I don't know if this was the style you were looking for but thought I would pass it along
