Default What are you buying for your Mom?

I'm purchasing this frame for my Dad
with this poem
http://www.wedowed.com/page19.html

Daddy's Girl

Like all little girls
I dreamt when I was five,
of marrying a man
with my Daddy's eyes.

Of knowing he would love me
and keep me safe from harm,
who has his sense of humor,
and almost all his charm.

And so for all your worry
and all your loving care,
the woman I've become
holds you very dear.

No one can replace you
in this whole wide world,
and after I am married
I'll still be Daddy's Girl

but am at a loss as to what to get my Mom. I want something sentimental and meaningful??? I'm actually really close to my Mom, closer than I am with my Dad.

What did you or are you getting your Mom or parents?

I have kinda played with these ideas, but am not totally sold

or this (which is what we are getting his folks)

My mom has a picture of me when I was 4 holding a single rose and looking at it so I am going to take a picture looking at my bouquet and will buy a double frame so she can put both in it.

Both moms are getting 5x7 pistures of us. I guess I'll put FMILs in a frame since I did not think of getting her a "present" per se. She may be getting a tape of the wedding, too

For both the mothers I'm embroidering hankerchiefs that just say "Mother". Simple, easy, but still personal. At least that's what I'm planning now. I'm sure a few months down the road I'll change my mind again.

I got my mom a Lenox cross. Its silver with a little crystal on it. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...67127?n=284507 I also had poems for my mom, dad, each of my grandparents, and each set of his. I got a template online and personalized it. Here's the one for mom:
Momma

Through the years you've been there
for all my ups and downs,
from friendships, boys and homework,
to finding wedding gowns.

I want so much to thank you
for all you've given me…
your care and love and wisdom
and all the lasting memories.

Dance recitals, pep squad, pageants,
you have made it through it all
with your patience and strength
you have never let me fall.

So many times you held me
and now you must let me go,
I am so appreciative of you
and I hope I always let it show.

For even though I’m grown up now,
dressed in silk and pearls,
remember this on my wedding day...
I'm still your little girl.

I love you so much Momma and I thank you for all you have done for me. I hope that one day I will be able to be the kind of mother to my children that you have been to yours.

We gave each mum a framed poem (that I pinched online & altered) his was thanking my mum & vice versa.
They both loved them. (although I thought they were sickening nonsense personally )

ETA:
Poem for Angiolina, (my MIL)

You are the mother I received
The day I wed your son.
And I just want to thank you, Mum
For all the things you've done.

You've given me a gracious man
With whom I share my life.
You are his loving mother and
I his lucky wife.

You used to pat his little head,
And now I hold his hand.
You raised in love a little boy
And gave to me a man.

Poem for Joan, (from Mo to my mum)

You are the Mother I received
the day I wed my wife.
And I just want to thank you, Mum
for bringing her to life.

You raised and loved your little one
with guiding hands and praise,
She's now the beauty of my life
in many cherished ways.

You have given me a special friend
who's always by my side,
I know you were as proud as I
the day she was my bride

We also gave them both a bouquet of flowers during the speeches. (you can see them blocking out my MIL in this shot!)

And we've ordered them each a 8x10 copy of this photo (because it is one of the more traditional ones and they'll like it)...

ETA: I like both of those photoframe options! I think they'd make a lovely gift

I gave my mom a picture frame that had six openings in it. In four of them, I put pictures from my bridal portrait shoot. In the remaining two slots, I used poems from the site Breezy had listed. I put one for my mom, and one for my dad. She cried when I gave it to her the night before. I'd have to look up the poems again, don't have them saved at the moment. Will try and come back later to add.

For his mom, we didn't get them anything at that point. But we found a picture frame on the honeymoon that's cute and we're hot gluing shells we found on the beach to it and we're going to put a wedding picture in it for them. We'll give that to them this weekend I think. Providing I ever get dressed and go order the pictures, lol.

My mom was my MOH, so she got a BM gift as well as a parent gift. We gave our parents framed letters from us. The letters were very emotional to write and read and there were tears everywhere! I don't even think either of our parents will be using the frame for a picture, as they were intended! The letters will probably be in those frames for life!
