Default Recipe Card ditty???

Ok so I want to include a recipe card to be returned with our RSVP's.

Our hope is to have a great cookbook that is filled with recipes from our family and loved ones.

Does anyone have a cute way to convey that you want the recipe cards back with the RSVP's or the intent behind them???

My cousin had this for her shower but people could also just bring it with (box on the table where you signed in) so it did not have to be folded (1/2 sheet of card stock).

I believe there was just a little note with the recipe card (also the invite was in the envelope). It seemed to work fine from what I recall. Though, if you want it sent back you will have to use small cards which IMHO would be a bit harder to write on. Some people's recipes took up quite a bit up space or they needed the half sheet since they had larger handwriting.

I have never seen this done for a wedding but a lot of people do this for showers.

Same as LJ. I would ask your MOH or whomever is throwing your shower to ask that they bring a recipe with them to the shower. I don't think that I would do it in the wedding invitation. You'll be lucky to get everyone to respond to the RSVP let alone include a recipe with it, lol.

Hmmm. If you have a wedding website, you could add a request for family recipes to add to your collection, ask that they either email you or bring it to the wedding reception...?

I like this idea alot. I think it is pretty cute, and it will get you a good variety of recipies. Are you looking for any kind of recipies in particular (entrees, deserts, cultural, etc.)? I think a cute way to announce what you are doing is to attach a little peom to them asking for the recipies (i.e. we are starting a new life together; a memory we will charish forever; and so for our new family and home; please send us a recipie of your own) That one's not so good, I just poped it out of my head, but you can kind of get the idea. Maybe send blank recipie cards in the invitations and cut a small hole in the corner and attach the poem/message with a ribbon in one of your wedding colors (or one that matches it the invites)

Well it's been a little while since you posted this but I found this picture on another site that might help get your ideas flowing.

Hope it helps.

If you're sending it out with invites, have a note on the rsvp that says to include the card or something.
