Default Some help please...

So I am pretty much flying on my own with the ceremony since I won't met my Pastor until that day. (Nice, huh?) But here's what I have, tell me if something is out of place.

Ceremony
Opening remarks and presentation of Bride
Charge to the couple
Corinthians (reading)
Exchange of Vows
Unity Candle
Exchange of Rings
Apache Blessing (reading)
Presentation of the couple

Do I need to change anything? Add? I am getting the number for him tomorrow when I'm at the chapel, I think I'd feel a lot better if I talked to him about it, and see/hear what version of vows he has and what he plans on saying or using for prayers (if any). Or if, heaven forbid, I have to come up with it all on my own.

Do you do the community blessing?

Why can't the pastor mail you a copy of the ceremony so you'll know.

That's not what it's really called.

Hold on....I have to grab a program to see what it is actually called.

It is called an Affirmation of Community.

It is basically a couple lines about the importance of family and whether or not they agree to support your marriage. The whole audience answers.

What about hymns?

ETA: I need to run out to do the grocery shopping, but I'll tell you how ours went after I get back...

You said Chapel, is it a Catholic ceremony? If so I can point you to a really useful website.

The affirmation of community sounds like a variation on "If anyone objects, speak now or forever hold your peace". A much better variation.

Has anyone ever actually heard that at a wedding? I haven't.

It was optional for my ceremony (Methodist). We chose not to use it, because DH is not a fan of what he calls "prompting" in religious ceremonies (or other things for that matter).

Ann, it's not a Catholic ceremony. It's non-denominational (did I spell that right?) and the chapel is just a pretty chapel I found. We went today (Chris and I) and kind of did a run through-all the flowers are blooming and it looks absolutely gorgeous. The weather is going to hold out for us too, no rain in the forecast!!! (If there is, don't tell me about it.)

And I don't want any form of the "if anyone objects" question because I feel that it creates a very awkward pause in the middle of an otherwise smooth-flowing ceremony. But that's just me.

Oh, did I tell you my plan? The ceremony starts at 6:30....I hope to be done by 6:45. Then it's off to the keg!!!!!

But for the weather & the pretty flowers

So were you all emotional doing the run through with Chris? BTW what is the deal with not being able to meet the minister before the wedding? Especially as you seen to have access to the church...

No, suprisingly I wasn't emotional during the run through. I don't know what the deal is about not being able to meet the minister...but she has four of them that she uses, and they're pretty much just for hire through her. (I think it's a side job for them.) But then again, we also don't get to have a rehearsal unless we paid extra for the facility (but there are other weddings on Friday, so that makes sense, ya know?) I'm not really that worried about it, the girls and guys will have a brief run through before everyone gets there. Oy. Two more days....
