Breast Cancer Walk - The PASH Wedding Forums and Message Boards

Hi Everyone,
A co-worker and friend is walking in the 2006 Boston Breast Cancer walk in support of her sister. I donated in memory of my cousin Karen who passed away 3 years ago with what started as breast cancer and travelled throughout her body. She was 44 and had 2 small children.

Here is her letter, and if you can donate anything to support her walk, please do. I know that she'll greatly appreciate it.

From August 4th – 6th, I am participating in a very special event called the Breast Cancer 3-Day. As you may, or may not know, I am always up for a challenge, and looking for ways to combine athletic events with raising money for the fight against breast cancer.

Here's the scoop: I'll walk 60 miles over the course of three days with thousands of other women and men. The net proceeds will support breast cancer research, education, screening and treatment through the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and the National Philanthropic Trust Breast Cancer Fund.

So many of us are affected by this disease - according to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, approximately 200,000 American women will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year, and nearly 40,000 will die from the disease. My own sister is a survivor, and it's because of her and all the other STRONG women out there battling breast cancer, that I'm walking 60 miles. Quite frankly, it is the least I can do!

I hope you will share this amazing experience with me. Remember, every last cent makes a difference, so even if you give a dollar, it is one more dollar toward such an important cause.
