D&J's wedding
So we flew into PHX Friday morning OUR FLIGHT ARRIVING ABOUT 0830 (we got about 1 hr sleep Thursday night!! ). Our flight left SeaTac at 0525. We got all checked in and through security by 0415 I think. Anyway, by the time we got our luggage, rode the shuttle to the car rental place (in PHX it's like 100 miles from the terminal!) and picked up our RED MUSTANG CONVERTIBLE!!!! It was nearly 10 am! Anyway we drove down to Tuscon area, making a side trip to the Casa Grande Ruins. It was so hot though that it was hard to enjoy walking around. They also said to be careful for rattle snakes!
We arrived where we were staying at about 2pm. Then went with Daniel and my mom back into Tucson to do some wedding stuff. Daniel was beginning to stress! So we rode with the top down and I think they both had a blast! It was a bit cooler by this time. That night we all went out to pizza, and also celebrated Kelsey's birthday (a family friend's youngest daughter, she turned 19).
The next day we got up at 7 am and ate breakfast and started running the errands that DB gave us to do and at about 330pm we all headed (4 car loads of people) to Old Tucson, AZ. Wedding was starting at 6pm It was HOT (they said 109) and windy and yes I was miserable as were most of us. But the important thing is the wedding is done!
They had a dinner reception at 8 pm, though to my surprise everyone went early and ate before the bride, groom and family even arrived? What's up with that? When we got there someone told me just take a plate and fill it and dig in and I said I will not fill my plate or eat until the bride and groom get their food. By this time certain people were ticking me off I guess.
Anyway, Daniel and Jenny had their reception, we took pictures and I hope they like them all. I will include a couple here!

Yay! Thanks for telling us about your trip. I'm sorry the weather wasn't the best, and that apparently there were people there with whom you didn't get along.
I love the pic of your Bro with the bouquet!
(Oh, about the buffet. At my wedding we didn't have a cocktail hour, so the guests were told by the wedding coordinator and my parents to go ahead and get food while they were waiting for us to arrive after pictures. So, I guess it just depends on the family as to what is "right".)

I'm having the Bishop tell everyone to start eating while we are taking our pictures!!! They just need to wait for the blessing on the food.
I like the picture of the groom with the bouquet. The bride looks lovely.
Arizona is HOT in the summer!! Just like here only it is humid, too, and you can't breathe!!! The mustang sounds like fun, though!!!! That is my all time favorite car -- red mustang convertible

Ann, they are private people so I don't think I can share more unless they give the go ahead......
He said to my mom that the Lord's prayer was for my dad, we also did that in our wedding because my Dad loved the Lord's prayer. Just I couldn't tell when the preacher was praying or speaking.... he didn't treat the prayers like what I am use to!
They almost started the wedding without Bob and I (my mom made them stop I guess), it was a bit confusing. We had people telling us to "Wait here and we will get you" and finally Bob and I just hoofed it (we were suppose to be seated and we were forgotten?????). Umm frankly, two of her sisters treated us like hired help, not family of the groom, and they knew who we were. But then if you can't even wear a dress/skirt or nice slacks to your sisters wedding.......... anyway, I love Jenny, she is sweet and I hope she makes a good wife for Daniel and Daniel a good husband for her. And I came to really appreciate all you ladies that said no children at the reception. I now know why!
Anyway, their wedding is over....... We are glad we went and helped to celebrate the day with Daniel and Jenny.

I'm having the Lord's Prayer, too, even though we don't say it in our faith, but it is in the scriptures. My aunt is saying it as the opening prayer and it is in a way to honor my Catholic background and even though my mom won't be there we are taping it for her so I think she will apreciate that. Plus, my aunt isn't used to saying a spontaneous prayer.
They forgot to seat you???? And weren't you the offical photographer????
What happened with the kids at the reception? (gritting my teeth and wondering if I should start stressing )

Robyn, they left Bob and I at a cantina/bar where they had family wait. They said we will get you and never did so we hoofed it to the wedding site. it was only about a half mile but in that heat and dress up clothes it felt like 10! Yes they forgot to seat us. We got there 1 minute before the bride and had no time to set stuff up, even though I said I needed at least 15 minutes.
Yes were were their photographers. I think that is why they treated us like they did....... UGH! But, they both looked wonderful and they are married.
The children tried to eat the cake, ran around bumping into people, taking all the wedding favors and playing with them, and I had to ask several times for one child to please move and he kept trying to poke people in the eye for points, don't ask me why, he wouldn't tell me. Take heart though, Bob and I had small children at our wedding and all went well, they behaved like normal children.

Yikes!!!!! Okay, that was rude about leaving you at the Cantina!!!
I am kind of worried about my cake, but I think the people making it will be keeping an eye on it. There are a couple kids I am worried about(one being my new nephew and the other a BIL), but there will be a big space on the opposite side of the room where they can run around and play (we just need to make sure they don't get out the basketballs!!).
Poking people in the eye for points??? Was there an older child instigating this one?? LOL

I'm so glad you had a safe trip and got to cruise around in the red mustang. That's great!
Both of them look incredible and great job on the pics!
So relieved I didn't have children at our reception. So relieved... lol

the pics are great! I'm glad everything turned out well with the few mishaps (you know, just having to run to the ceremony and not being seated -- no biggy! ) I can't believe SIL's sister's treated you and Bob like that - URG.

I just wanted to see more of your work Kim But I totally understand why they might not like to have their photos show to strangers on the internet
It seems very rude of your SIL's sisters, lets hope they are nicer to their new BIL. I don't think they can really use the excuse of treating you as if you were hired staff, even they should be treated with dignity & respect
But like you say, the most important part to focus on is that they are both married & get to start their new life together The rest doesn't matter nearly so much!

The photos are looking really good Kim! And you are certainly beating mine for turn around speed! I didn't get my proof till 4wks after the wedding.
I love that the one you said was a bit blurry makes your eye go straight to the rainbow in the background!
