I am wearing a veil becasue I like the classic look of it. I did have mine custom done to make it very small and sheer. It is skinnier and just goes down my back to my lower back. You will barely see it from the front.

I haven't decided yet but I know a lot of brides do wear them. It's all about what you want -- it's your wedding. I have heard people tell stories about when they first put their veil on. I guess that's the pivotal moment when it really sinks in that you are soon to be a bride. So maybe just wearing one makes it a little more "real" for some women? And think of how many little girls wear pillow cases on their heads pretending to get married. (Am I the only one who did that? )
Like I said, do what you want. No one is going to say "I can't believe she did/didn't wear a veil!"

i was engaged years before i actually got married, and w/ that gown, i chose to have a veil--it truly did make me feel like a princess bride, and cemented the reality... however, w/ DH, it just didn't fit as much. i still had a (different) beautiful gown, but i wore a small tiara (more like a headband than a pagenat kind) and my hair down... it was more "me" somehow.
welcome to pash!!!

 Welcome to Pash!
I wore a veil at my first wedding, but I didn't have a blusher over my face.
I didn't wear one at my second wedding.

Actually I've only been to two weddings in the past five years where the bride wore a veil. All of the others went without. I want a veil for various reasons, including that I love how they look (a non blusher veil though, because I hate those) and because I am obsessed with my hair and so I like showing it off.

When I was younger I wanted a hat with a bow!!! But my tastes have changed and I'm wearing 2 veils for the ceremony -- one attached to the back of my hair with half a wreath and a smaller one on top. the 2 will mesh, but I'm taking the top one off after the ceremony. No blusher (is that when it's in front of your face?).
birdie, I put white blankets on my head for a veil!!!

I have been married twice.
For my first wedding I wore a veil with a blusher that my Dad lifted just before handing me over.
For my second wedding I wore a veil without a blusher.
Yes, Robyn, the blusher is the part that goes over your face.

I wore a veil because I liked the soft flowy look of it, it didn't have a blusher though, I'm just not a fan of those. Welcome to Pash BTW!!!

Welcome to Pash!
I kind of had the best of both worlds, I wore a cloak with a large hood which was up when I was walking down the aisle & for the unity candle ceremony. Then down for the Mass & for our vows. I wore it down for the group shots but up for half of the romantic ones. I then had a veil which I wore (without the blusher ) for the reception.
It worked for me, but like the others said: go with whatever makes you comfortable.
I have quite bad acne on my back so I didn't want to risk having my bare skin on show so that was part of the resoning behind my veil... But also because I just felt so much more "bridal" in my veil!

I thought and bought a rhinestone comb to wear. Once I got my dress, I purchased a veil. When I tried them both on... I have decided to wear the veil.
I am not using the blusher and the veil will be low on the back of my head. I really like the way it looks and compliments my dress

I wore a veil, b/c I always wanted to and it completed the dress, IMO.

I did not wear a veil. It is not really my style.....I am a very practical person. I wore a tiara.
