Default Gift for Groom!

Hi

I don't know what to get my groom and dont' want to get something traditional, like a flask or anything. I want to surprise him. What is everyone else going? Two things I found that were more unique were from leadingedgegifts.com
#1 framed share of playboy. I'm considering this because him and his two best friends from like, 2nd grade, each have a dog tag that reads "E.J.T. (their 1st initials), players forever."
#2 framed caricature of us. This one is more expensive but I really like the way they look. I called to see what the artist could do and they said I can have whatever I want drawn.
both came with plaques you could have engraved, so I need to think of something to put on them too.

What does everyone think? Anyone want to look at the site and give me feedback? Any other good sites?

Thanks in advance!!!

I bought mine a pair of shoes. We went with practical. Since we got married in January all of the fun gifts were given the month before at Christmas.

LOL Heather.

I made mine a scrapbook of his time in the Army so far. He knows about it(technically, the album itself was my basic training graduation gift to him). I will continue to add to it during his career.

I like the caricature idea.

Given the ideas you presented I would say boudoir pic with a frame or note that says something like "for MY player from his ONLY play thing"

You could have them professionally done, but it's fun to do with a girlfriend and would save you $$$

That is a fantastic idea. And like Breezy said, if you have a girlfriend you feel ocmfortable with, she may help you and be more comfortable being fully honest with you!! I think this may be the best idea! Although, I was planning on a watch for mine - he isn't very romantic

I didn't give my husband a gift; the wedding was the gift (I paid for the bulk of it myself).

We didn't get gifts for each other in the end.

We did mean to, but I was told by his family that it is a tradition that the Italian side of the family buy braclets for both the bride & groom.
(though no one explained why/ what it means so if you know I'd love an explanation! Prunella???)

I love Breezy's idea of a framed photo of you sans clothes

I've not been of much help have I?!

I bought my FH a Movado watch. He never buys really nice things for himself, and I really wanted to get him something once in a lifetime because he's been so good to me over the years. I can't wait to see the look on his face when he opens it.

I'm getting my FH a pair of nice cuff links that he will wear on the wedding day. He is getting me a necklace/earing set for me to wear. We both know about it, but it will be fun to wear something from each other on our special day.
PS- I think the pic idea is hilarious!!!=)
