Default Wedding this weekend

Okay, so I'm going to a wedding this weekend and they are asking that you dress classy casual... "classual". So, what do I wear? I have a dress that I was thinking about, but I don't think it's casual enough. I'm afraid I'm going to be way overdressed.

I was thinking that maybe I could wear a pair of black pants and a cute tank top, with a jacket for nighttime. Do yout think that would be okay? This couple are very casual types. Their reception is going to have Margarita machines and their STD have them sitting there in flip flops, pointing to them saying to get the FF's ready for their wedding day.

Thoughts?

I think that nice pants and a tank top would work just fine. If the dress is like a sundress or a more casual dress like that, I believe it would also work for the wedding.

I think that sounds fine, but a casual dress would be ok too. The STD thing gets me everytime, I cannot read it without being like huh.

The black pants and tank top w/ jacket sounds good to me. I think unless the dress you were looking at is like a sundress, it would probably be more than they're expecting. (Judging by your desciption of the STD's.)

ETA: Maroki13, you and I seem to think alike...

I don't think I have a pic of me in the dress, but it's the same dress I wore to my rehearsal dinner. Oh wait, I may have a pic. I'll go look. But my gut is telling me that it's too dressy. Or I could wear some capris and a cute tank top.

That's probably what I'd wear.

Thanks guys! I feel better now. I just can't imagine not wearing a dress to a wedding! I have these cute brown capris and a pink top with a criss cross type back. maybe I'll wear that.

Either of those sounds fine. I'd imagine they added the classy part so people don't turn up in jeans & tshirts (Who would do that?! But I've seen it in some wedding photos ).

Just wear whatever you think you'll be comfortable in, I wouldn't do big hats or anything but I think you coould get away with pretty much anything else.

hehehe..... ann, do you remember looking at one of my wedding pics and there's this random girl holding a beer bottle AND a glass of champagne, and wearing jeans in the background of me and rickey?!?!??! i did not know her, and later when i asked rickey, he assumed she was a girlfriend of one of the ushers.... but he originally thought she was my guest! yikes! 6pm wedding, downtown, yeah, that equals jeans to me!!! NOT!!!

I also have a couple of really cute skirts, so I may just wear one of those, after talking to the girls in my office. I don't know! I might go with the skirt b/c I'm feeling very bloated and they would be more comfortable. I just looked and it's only supposed to get to 71 degrees there tomorrow. I don't want to be too cold! The only jacket I have is my denim jacket, but I wear it all the time with a cute skirt or capris and they dress it up. Hope that's okay. It's all I have!!
