Default Anyone have Maggie Sottero "Riley"?

Just wondering if anyone has this dress and if they could send me pics of them in it...I've been searching EVERYWHERE and no one has it in stock for me to try on! I need to get a dress ordered soon, but if I never see it in person or how it looks on someone other than the model in the catalog, I'll always wonder! Thanks!

Kristens Bridal don't have it? If they sale it maybe they can look up and see if any one local has purchased this dress. Nice dress!

Hi! Welcome to Pash!

Have you been to bridal shops in your area? I would have to think they would at least have photo books from designers that you could look at.

Just realized ljeagle found something for you. If you ever need anything found at all, she's your woman!

Thanks ladies...I have called all around town, as well as Fargo, and everywhere in MN that is close to here and no one has it in stock. However, I did find it in stock in Winnipeg and may head up there tomorrow! I just didn't want to drive 2.5 hours, but it looks like I may have to! I'm gonna be upset if it doesn't end up looking good. I picked out one at David's Bridal that looks awesome on http://www.davidsbridal.com/bridal_g...8&prodgroup=10
but by the time I pay for alterations, it would wind up costing me more than the Maggie dress!
I am getting married in my hometown in northern Iowa and moving there in a few months, so I'd like to order everything (my dress and BM dresses) locally (a bridal store down that way can order it but also didn't have it in stock), so it will all be close come wedding time, which is Dec. 1! Wow, sorry for the long post....

Please girl, that's nothing! A lot of us are long-winded.

That's a good idea to order things in that area. It will be so much more easier for you to deal with vendors, friends and family when you can do it face to face.

I've tried on dresses in similar styles and like them, but would any of you dare order one without trying it on first? I'm tempted, but that's quite a risk!

Here are two that look like the maggie dress u want. If you try one of these on and u like it then I wouldn't see how the black would make a difference since u already like the other black one. Hope this helps!

the Maggie dress is stunning Dont buy it with out trying it on, everything looks good on the 90 pound models they put them in, they also chose model's with certain hair color's ,shape of the figure and lots of other factors other then just weight when they put them into these dresses. You dont wanna end up having a dress that you absolutly hate on. If you are dead set on this dress and the place 2 hours from you has it make the trip and try it on.
Best of luck with the dress

Default You'll never believe this!

I called the bridal shop in Winnipeg, TWICE...once yesterday, and early today to confirm the Riley was in stock. They said it was, so I made the 2 and half hour trip up there, and it's NOT there! No explanation was even given to me, though one lady took me over to the rack, pulled out a dress, thinking it was Riley, but it was Rebecca! Then she proceeds to tell me how similar Rebecca is to Riley. It's not THAT similar! I asked what the deal was and no one seemed to know what happened. All the girls seemed confused as to where it could be because they remembered me calling about it. What kind of shop are they running, for God's sake!?? You would think they would remember selling it within the past 24 hours if that was the case! The thing is, on their website, www.stellasbridal.com, it is listed as in stock in their sample sale dresses! I checked every darn rack in the store!! I just wrote them again and demanded an explanation...wonder if I'll even hear back. What a waste of a day!!

That sucks!

Definitely write a letter. Maybe they'll offer some type of deal. If they find it, maybe free alterations for your trouble? If they don't, maybe a nice discount on something different?

Can't hurt to ask!

Amberdawn, welcome!! I'm sorry that the stupid store told you that they would have it and then didn't, especially after such a long drive! I would've thrown a FIT! That dress IS GORGEOUS!! I hope you can find it!

What city are you moving to/getting married in in Iowa? I'm originally from Iowa and so is my DH. I'm from Davenport and went to school in Iowa City. Now I live in LA. Anyway, enough about me.

Welcome!

I'm moving to Bancroft, a very small town of under 1,000 people in north-central Iowa...you know the kind of community where everyone knows your business! It will be nice to be close to family and friends again, but I figured once I went to college and found a job, I wouldn't wind up living there again! Crazy how things turn out. I can imagine how different LA is from any city in Iowa! I have a couple friends out there.

Welcome to Pash!

I'm so sorry to hear about the dress fiasco. That sucks that you drove all that way for nothing. Definitely keep up posted on whether your letter gets a response.

Here is the dress from David's Bridal...since the Riley kind of fell through (argh!), I will probably order this one tomorrow. I was holding off because a local bridal shop at home could have ordered the Riley for under $500 AND the alterations would have been free! I did go and try this one on again last week and I was so excited that I called one of my BM's and told her it was the one! Then two days later, that certainty wore off. I'm a horrible decision maker, but I know the features of this dress (the color and scalloped/sweetheart neckline) look the best on me! Good thing I don't have much time to second guess everything else! I'll let you know if I hear back from the bridal shop!

That's how DH's hometown is... Only one stoplight and all. Very very very different from LA! We love it here.

BTW, that dress looks great on you!

I ordered the dress from David's Bridal on Monday (the one in the picture above)...glad that's out of the way! Now I have to move on to choosing dresses for my BM's. I have 5 styles picked out. Hopefully all will agree on one. One of the styles is strapless and has the skirt with the pick ups on it. Everyone liked that one, but I don't know how good it would look since I have an a-line skirt on my wedding gown. Any opinions? I'll post the pic of the dress I'm talking about (I would get them in black). I will be getting BM dresses locally in Iowa, so it's more convenient for fittings and such.

I think it would look fine, and I love that dress but not all of my BMs did. There was a whole group of girls trying on that dress when I went looking for mine, they were all different sizes and it looked nice on all of them.
