I am Suzanne aka SuzyBride. I am 22 years old and my birthday is Feb. 10. I am from a small town and love small town life. I have been going to college for 5 years now at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. I graduated May 2005 with a BS in Education, Communication Disorders though, not teaching or anything. I am currently in grad school working on my MS in Rehabilitation Counseling which means I will work with persons with disabilities helping them primarily to find jobs, but in reality my scope of practice will be alot broader!! As of now my dream job would be working with my hometown high school with transitioning students with special needs into life after the sheltered environment of the public school system. My mission in my professional life is to advocate for and educate these kids and their parents about the options after high school. They are so often overlooked and forgotten about. Anyway.. *stepping down off my soapbox*
I have two wonderful parents! Although things have not always been peaches and cream for them, they have managed to stay married for what will be 25 years in June. My mother teaches Career Orientation to 7th graders and is the most selfless person I know. LOL She is a kid at heart and, although, she does have some problems facing certain responsibilities, she is the one friend I know I can always turn to. She has been though alot in the past few years. She underwent open heart surgery July 2, 2004. She had mitral valve prolapse. Her condition was so delicate and complicated that she was sent to the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. She was fortunate enough to have the best heart surgeon in the country, Dr. Joseph Sabik. I truly feel that if he had not been her surgeon, she might not have come through it. She is now better than ever, healthy and happy, but let me tell you, that is the toughest thing my family has ever been through. My dad is great. He is the most moral, ethical, person I know. Integrity and honesty, those two words are him in a nut shell. He is struggling right now trying to find who he is after losing his job of 12 years about 6 years ago. His identity was so wrapped up in his job and providing financially for his family, that he doesn't see that he has importance past being the financial provider. He is beginning to overcome his obstacles though and he always tries to keep a positive attitude.
I have an AMAZING brother and sister!! Jim is 18 and Caroline will be 16 in Jan.
Jim is the most responsible, mature, smart, funny, insightful 18 year old you could ever hope to know. He has learned so much from just being observant of the goings on around him. He plans to attend the U of A (yay!!) and get his BS and then MS in Nursing. Then he wants to go to physicians assistant school. How's that for goals?! He is taking a bunch of medical classes in high school and loves them. He is also on the baseball and golf teams and is awsome at both. This year he was the first to ever get to the state golf tournament from our town!! I am so proud of him!!!
Caroline, who I still call toot head, LOL, is my smile on a bad day. She is a bit ditsy, not always aware of what is going on around her and she wakes up in a new world everyday!! (We blame it on the anesthetic. Mom had emergency surgery right after getting pregnant. Thats actually how we found out Caroline was on her way! Doc came out and said to dad, "Well the surgery went great. Uh, did you know she pregnant?" Dad's response, "What the hell did you do in there, doc?" LOL) She is such a sweetheart though. She is so sensitive and caring. She wants to be a neonatal nurse or a vet. LOL, we'll see though!
My husband, Josh, and I are from the same hometown. We have known each other since about 7th-8th grade when we were in Targets, the gifted and talented program, together. We started dating the summer between my Jr. and Sr. year of high school. He had just graduated and was leaving for the U of A in two weeks. I had decided I didn't want to hold him back from having the fun in college and I didn't want to have to worry about what he was doing up there while I was still at home. He came over to my house one night a few days before leaving and I told him that we could still hang out when he came home, but he was free to do wantever he wanted while he was off at school, ya know a no stings attached kind of thing... Well in response, he pulled his senior ring out of his pocket and gave it to me and told me that he didn't want it to be that way. He came home nearly every weekend his first semester! We know by that first Christmas that we were going to get married. We were apart for two years as I went to a community college and lived at home my first year of college. But that wasn't working out due to my overbearing dad, so I enrolled at the U of A and got to be closer to Josh.
Josh proposed on December 23, 2004. It was absolutely perfect! We were out at his grandparents farm in Ogden. He called me early that morning to see if I wanted to go with him to put some hay out for the cows. I told him alright, I'll be ready in a minute. I love going out there, its so calm and peaceful. I jumped up, threw on some old jeans and my brothers toboggan and camo shirt. We went by his Mamaw and Papaw's house first to see if there was anything else that needed to be done while we were out there. We visited for a minute and Mamaw told us that a baby calf had been born and gave me a camera to take some pictures of her. It was such a beautiful day.. it had snowed the night before so everything was covered with a blanket of white and there was a bright blue clear sky with a big shining sun. But it was so cold! I had to put on some of Josh's coveralls just to keep warm. We got to the farm and I started snapping pictures while he tried to start the tractor. We had been there a while and Josh was getting frustrated because he couldn't get the tractor to cooperate with him, but I was just enjoying the atmosphere. Next thing I know he is standing in front of me trying to take the camera out of my hand. I looked at him like he was crazy wondering what in the world he was doing. He took the camera and started to pull something out of his pocket and began to bend down on one knee. I immediately knew what was about to happen and started to get teary eyed. He looked up at me and said simply, "Suzanne, will you marry me?" I of course said yes, then we were both crying! It was so perfect, it was so "us." No fuss, not a big to-do over anything, no explanation of why, just a simple question and a simple answer. I had never told Josh this, but I had always hoped that he would propose on the farm. It is such a meaningful place with so much sentimental value to him and his family. It's my hope that we wind up there one day. Just taking care of the garden and the cows and living a happy, simple life. Kids running around, riding four wheelers in the pasture. His Mamaw took this picture after we got back to their house. It's the only one we have of that day. We were eating ham sandwiches for lunch. As you can tell he must love me alot to propose to me looking like that!!

Josh and I got married July 23, 2005 at home in the Methodist church. My uncle performed the ceremony. It was perfect! Uh.. except me forgetting Joshs ring!! LOL I had left it in my purse in the parlor where I had gotten dressed! Oh well! We had a great time at the reception too.
We now are living in a little rent house in Fayetteville. Josh is getting his MS in Operations Management and I am getting mine in Rehab Counseling. Josh will finish in March and I will finish next December. We plan to move back to our hometown to settle at the end of the summer. I will still have my intership and another class to finish, but I can do my internship anywhere and the class is a self paced 'suitcase class' I just mail in when I complete. We have recently adopted a sweet puppy, Ellie from the animal shelter... Well, actually I adopted her, but Josh is warming up to her. Especially after she caught a mole in our backyard! Now she is his 'huntin dog'!! LOL
Well.. thats me! Nice to meet all of you!
