Default wine glasses

I am having a friend of mine paint on the wine glasses for me. The question I have for you should I have her put their names on them and what they are? (Example: Name Maid of Honor) Should I just put their names on them? I am having her paint some leaves on them since I am having the fall wedding.

Personally I would prefer something with just my name on it. I'm not sure I would use something as often if it had a title like that on it...

I agree with H. I'd prefer my name, or my inital rather than the title. They sound pretty and I think I may use paint on my glasses for the BP too.

I would go with there name but not title. Like Heather said they might not use it again if a title is on it.

I agree, only put the name on it. I don't know if you are considering putting on your wedding date, but I don't think I would do that either. If I received that gift, as lovely as it is, and it had the wedding date of my friend and/or my role in the wedding, it would probably just sit in my cabinet. If it had my name on it, I'd be more likely to use it. Here's another suggestion. If the person is part of a couple, I would put the SO's name on the other glass. I'd be more likely to use them if he had one and I had one.

Great idea! I'd love a one of a king (or a set) of wineglasses that were handpainted!

Makes sense since you put it that way. Thank you ladies. I am just going to put there names on them. I will have pictures for all of you as soon as I get them back from her.

I would go with just their name too. I can't wait to see pics.

Thumbs up

So do you mind if I steal your idea? I was thinking on how I would end up thanking the court for all of their time and dedication after the wedding and the whole wine glass thing are a great idea! I mean, I don't know what the purpose of them are in your wedding but I think its a great gift for them.

I agree with putting only the name...
If by any chance you wanted to put what they were because the MOH would obviously stand at a more special position than the rest of the court... then I think maybe the MOH and BM should get a different kind of wine glass. I dont know, maybe a little taller or a little wider glass... obviously nothing that will fade yours and your FH wine glasses out.

Just a suggestion.

You could use the wine glasses as the place settings for the bridal party at the head table, too.
