Need Flower Advice
Did you know that roses are less expensive than calla lillies? I didn't. Anyway, please give me your opinions....my wedding colors are royal blue, light blue and white....I wanted calla lillies blended with white/ivory roses....the florist explained to me that that could be "too much white". She suggested that I break the monotony of the white by incorporating a new hybrid of rose, I don't know the name of it but it is a dark blue color. She also said that I should add some other color like yellow, peach or pink so that it has some "pop" to it....whatever that means...so if you could picture what I'm talking about in your head, please send some advice because I really don't know what I should do for flowers. Thanks.

Also, if anyone has any pic's with the colors described above I'd really like to get a general idea of what it might look like, the florist didn't have any to show me...apparently blue isn't a big color at weddings....maybe I should find a different florist....hmmmm.......

My wedding colors were royal blue and ivory with gold accents. My bouquet was mostly white with some blue hydrangea and greenery mixed in. I don't have too many of my wedding pics on my work computer, but here are a couple.
The fullview, after being caught by one of my young cousins:

As a wedding coordinator who has visited with many florists and seen many bouquets, I agree with your florist. If you place white flowers against a white dress, the flowers will not show up, either in your photos or when you walk down the aisle. You need some color, even if it is greenery around the bouquet, to set it off. When you see a bouquet that "pops," you will understand what she is talking about. A bouquet that pops will also accent your dress.
Blue is an extremely popular wedding color, but there are few blue flowers. Delphiniums come in light blue and dark blue and hydrangeas come in a lavender-blue shade. Was the rose that the florist mentioned either Blue Bird or Delilah? Both of them are a lavender blue.
