Favors are token items that you give to each guest (or couple) at the wedding to thank them for coming (sort of like a party favor at a child's birthday party). They are typically either decorative, edible, or functional. They are a nice touch, but they are definitely not mandatory.

I gave two favors at my wedding - A votive candle wrapped in tulle and miniature Hershey chocolate bars wrapped with custom wrappers.

Its a little gift that you take with you after the wedding. For example, a little picture frame, a candy bar with the wrapper of the newlyweds last name etc.

Right right gotcha now - thanks!

No we do do it its just not called a Favour and its not typical at all!

What you would typically do in NZ if you were going to do anything is have little boxes made up and then put a slice of wedding cake in it for people to take home or you would send them a wedding pic after the wedding! Alot of people would have extracake made up specifically for that!

Feb-bride we dont call them party favours for Kids either we call that a Party sack or pack!

Oh ok. I know the thank you cards vary in the US as well. In my area the thank you card has a picture of the bride and groom. I guess it is part of your photography package.

I think its really cool have traditions vary based on geography.

I like that cake idea!! That's definitely different.

I saw on a TV show a wedding for a Korean girl and right after the wedding the family were given to-go boxes of food and they left before the reception started!! LOL Don't know if this is typical or was just for laughs for the show.
